Angela: we choose this study because not all the household in the area of san miguel have a commercial

fire extinguisher for a reason of its price. Conducting this study may teach them how to make fire
extinguisher with products that can be seen at home and affordable. We wanted to know if the baking
soda and vinegar is really effective so atleast they dont need to buy a commercial fire instead they can
save because the materials are affordable and can be found at home. Some of would ask, "why need to
buy commercial fire extinguisher or make an alternative if we have water" due to our culture where it is
not common to have a fire extinguisher at home, or due to the fact where it is not required by law to have
one of these at home individually. Some of would ask, "why need to buy commercial fire extinguisher or
make an alternative if we have water "The only problem is that what if there's suddenly a fire at home and
a bucket of water is not enough to put it out? what if there's suddenly a fire at area like manila that
experienced shortage of water. What will they do to put out the fire in the first place they experience
shortage of water? tpand yes there would be a fire truck but what if the fire truck can't come on time? So
it is better to have atleast alternative fire extinguisher at home for emergency purposes.
Who will benefit in your study?
Beanna: The people that will be benefit in our study are the community since the materials used are
affordable more houses can have alternative fire edtinguisher which can make the community safer from
trafic accidents. Also The school they could save from switching commercial fo alternative. Country
because of its reasonsble price the economy will rise and help improve the fire extinguisher industry and
make the philippines a hazard fire country. And to the student researchers as the result of this study would
be a good source of information to the students to use in any experimentation regarding the benefits that
the baking soda and vinegar could give us an alternative fire extinguisher.
Chad: The general aim of this study determine the effectiveness of baking soda and vinegar mixture as a
substitute to commercial fire extinguisher (chemical) aiming to assess to which Fire Class A Intensity the
mixture was alternative
This research study Hypothesis: Based on the results and objectives of the study, the researchers therefore
conclude that there is no significant difference on the effect of alternative fire extinguisher using different
treatments compared to the commercial fire extinguisher when tested according to the length of time and
intensity of fire. This study accept the null hypothesis, indicating the unavailability of the treatments and
variables as an alternative fire extinguisher. Thus, this study could lead to further use of safer and
inexpensive alternative fire extinguisher.
The independent variables consist of the different treatments with specific concentration of vinegar and
baking soda ratio, and commercial fire extinguisher. The dependent variable is the ability of the different
treatment to extinguished fire when categorized according to: Length of time and (Classes of fire)
capacity when applied to a particular fire class.
Percentage, mean, standard deviation, dependent and independent t-test were used to compare the
effectiveness of alternative fire extinguisher and commercial fire extinguisher. The study revealed that
Alternative Fire Extinguisher and Commercial fire extinguisher is effective way to put out fire. But,
Alternative Fire Extinguisher is more affordable and home friendly.
