In its repeater / interface role, the unit receives synchro or stepper gyra transmission systems, or NMEA, 0183 heading data. The KW9SO-CR converts the information into standard ASCII data. GPS and RSA data is input, combined with the gyro heading data and output to the printer or PC The gyro heading information is displayed, together with indication of rate of turn, with front panel push buttons provided to set initial alignment and brightness adjustment. ‘The data output from the KW950-CR includes time, date, position, ground speed, course, and the date from GPS, Rudder Angle (if combined with the GPS dota prior to the KW950-CR) along with heading from the Byr9. Both inputs are combined and passed to the printer with the supplied serial cable The following conditions determine the data output rate: 1) Switch selectable output interval of between 4 to 15 minutes. 2) Change of course by 2 degrees from the last output. This occurs no faster than a 10 second interval. 3) Instant output on demand by pressing the AL button, Page 9 of 24 Specification INPUT 1: NMEA 0183 valid GPS sentences. Check the connections and the gyro input LEDS, Press AL to clear the alarm and check alignment. Rate of Turn Bar Segments ‘The bars have the following valves, 30, 60, 90, and 120 degrees per minute. The KW950 is nat a rate of turn instrument. The bar segment display is intended to give a simple rate of turn indication as a better alternative to rotating LEDs. = LDi, 2, 3, 4 Input Channel LEDs Wily gyro stepper input Si, 2, 3 LEDS should never be all on or all off. Stepper and synchro signals are resolved to 1/6" degree. M-Type step is 1/3" degree. S1, 2, 3 LEDS indicate the state of the input signa Is. With 3 rotating stepper input they will change in order 001 011010110 100 101. With rectified step, Per Input LD’ should be on all the time. With a synchro input all leds are on, with each one going off for a short time only at half degree (half rev) intervals.
