Sheriff King Funeral Set for Lockwood High School Wednesday at 10 a.m.

HARDIN, MT – Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with countless public safety
cooperators, announces arrangement of funeral services for Big Horn County Sheriff Darrell King.
King, 55, passed away Sunday in a vehicle accident. A Crow and Northern Cheyenne Tribal member,
he was a regional expert in law enforcement coordination, a Marine and a mentor.

King’s memorial service takes place at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, November 29, at the
Lockwood High School Gymnasium just east of Billings, Mont. At 8 a.m. a procession of local public
safety vehicles from the Big Horn County region will escort the late Sheriff from Hardin to the
service at Lockwood High School.

At the service, please follow directions of attendants directing parking traffic. Handicapped parking
is available. Following the memorial, a procession of public safety vehicles will escort Sheriff King
back to Hardin for interment ceremonies at the Fairview Cemetery west of Hardin, at Vanzandt and
Cemetery Roads. Agencies wishing to participate will find a secure web address in the NLETS
teletype. Due to the funeral procession routes, drivers may expect delays Wednesday morning in
Hardin, on Interstate 90, and on US Highway 87 East in Lockwood.

Federal, tribal and state-level officials to speak at the memorial, a website to live-stream the
service, and a public safety coordination hotline may all be announced Monday. The family
requests that media at the service remain at the back of the gym in a designated media area.

This weekend, funeral home visitation for Sheriff King will be held Saturday, November 25, from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m., and then Sunday, November 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Bullis Mortuary on Center
St. in Hardin, Mont. A wake is offered Tuesday, November 28, at 4 p.m. at the Big Horn County
Fairgrounds, 118 Sawyer Loop, in Hardin, Mont. Letters of condolence, flowers or gifts may be sent
