The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love
of God and the communion (Koinonia) of the
Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

his Handbook aims to address the

primary concern of believers in discerning

the voice of God. Many individuals have

experienced difficulties in their marriages,

finances, ministry, leadership, and career

decisions as a result of not accurately perceiving

the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This handbook

serves as a comprehensive and practical guide that

all circumstances and at all times.

 Chapter One

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

He is part of the trinity, He is the promise of the

father to us.

Luke 24:49

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father

upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,

until ye be endued with power from on high.

And also has been promised to us in Joel chapter

2, to be given to all believers that have received

Jesus Christ as their lord and personal savior.

Act 7:55

But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up

steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God,

and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.

The Holy Spirit is the one sent to guide and

communicate with believers. After Jesus'

ascension, He gifted us with the Holy Spirit, whose

primary responsibility is to lead believers into all

truth as revealed in the Word, and to clearly

communicate God's will to them as needed.

Ephesians 4:8

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on

high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto

John 16:13-15

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he

will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak

of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall

come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of

mine, and shall show it unto you. All things that

the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he

shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

Glory! Meaning that when He speaks to us, it's

Jesus talking! Hallelujah

Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul

for the work whereunto I have called them. (Acts

‘But Brother Emmanuel that was then’

ROADBLOCKS TO HEARING HIM

t is crucial to comprehend that the Holy Spirit

is not necessarily verbose, but is always ready

to communicate. However, our ability to listen

and understand may be hindered by various

deceptive, worldly influences that cloud our minds

and harden our hearts. As a result, we may struggle

to hear the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit,

such as the call to read a verse from the Bible each

day, the cloths to put on, the place to be, what to

preach and who to marry. It’s imperative to

understand that the Holy Spirit is not talkative but

he is willing to always speak but the issue has been

that our hearing ability is dull…. Implying to say,

our MIND has been blocked by multi factorial

deceptive elements which are carnal i.e of the

world.

 Roadblock one

Guilt of Sin/ Addiction

Hebrew 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called to
day; lest any of you be hardened through the
deceitfulness of sin.
The greatest target of sin is to the end point where

you are affected to believe you have missed it

totally and cannot be accepted by God, which

builds up guilt and hardiness of heart in a person,

only to find out that prayers and spiritual things

becomes a burden, were you walk into church with

fear of the unknown, with so much overwhelming

guilt, but we have a good news for you my beloved,

Jesus has paid the price for our sins, and the

moment we ask for forgiveness, we are forgiven.

It's important to recognize that the devil, or the

accuser, will try to make us feel unworthy and

prevent us from communicating with the Holy

Spirit.

The devil may use our past mistakes, such as

sexual sin, lying, or not being actively involved in

church, to convince us that we are not holy enough

to talk to God. This type of condemnation is

common among believers who seek to have a

deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, but it is

important to remember that it only serves to block

our minds from being receptive to His voice. BUT

HE HAS FAILED, YES HE HAS FAILED! he

has been defeated via the blood of Jesus, our sin

has been forgiven by the blood of Jesus through

the force of prayers.

I write unto you, little children, because your sins

are forgiven you for his name's sake. (1 John 2:12).

Good news, he has also forgotten, God

remembers your sin no more Glory!!!

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and

their sins and their iniquities will I Remember no

more. (Hebrew 8:12)

Say these Prayers:

FATHER IN THE NAME OF JESUS,

FORGIVE ME MY SINS (CALL THEM BY

NAME), AND HAVE MERCY ON ME BY

Misleading and incorrect Doctrine

Mark 7:13

Making the word of God of none effect through

your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many

such things do ye.

Colossians 2:8

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy

and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the

rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

It's important to be aware that the Holy Spirit is

available to all believers, regardless of

denomination. We are all sheep of Jesus and each

denomination was established through the

guidance of the Holy Spirit to its founders. As

members of a denomination, we should not be

discouraged from listening to the Holy Spirit. The

same Spirit that speaks to our local pastor is the

same Spirit that desires to communicate with us.

As followers of Christ, we have the ability to hear

the voice of the Holy Spirit.

YOU ARE HIS SHEEP, HEAR YOUR

SHEPHERD! (My SHEEP hear my voice, and I

know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)).

Every son has the right to hear his father, every

sheep must be guided by the shepherd, the

moment you became born again you were part of

the sheep of God, and the sign you a sheep is that

you hear his voice, let no one make you feel it’s

for men of God only, you all are his sheep, all

pastors, bishops, apostles and YOU, are all his

sheep.

RULES OF COMMUNICATION

I
n every relationship, including our

communication with God, there are

established guidelines. When Grace and I were

dating, we had rules that kept our relationship

strong. However, when I broke these rules, it

resulted in difficulty in our communication and

both of us will just be stirring at each other. This is

similar to our relationship with the Holy Spirit. To

effectively communicate with God, we must follow

certain protocols and guidelines for worship that

ensure acceptability and effectiveness.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must

worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

Rules of Communication Number One

BE IN THE SPIRIT

Revelations 1:10

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard

behind me a great voice.

Until you are in the spirit you can’t hear him,

because he is a spirit, and spiritual things are

discerned by spiritual people…

 Receive the Holy Spirit Receive ye the Holy

Ghost…(John 20:22)

 Be in the word, always be filled with God’s

word, and meditate on God’s word daily. It

is the spirit that quickened; the flesh

profited nothing: the words that I speak

unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

(John 6vs. 63)

 Always create an atmosphere that is Godly

and in a Solitary place that welcomes God

And in the morning, rising up a great while

before day, he went out, and departed into

a solitary place, and there prayed.( Mark

1:35 )

  Lastly, always pray in the Spirit, Every

opportunity you have, pray!

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your

most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude

1:20)

So then, how does this faith come?

● Through hearing the voice of the Holy

Spirit.

● Through the scriptures.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by

the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Hallelujah…So then, that means when we pray in

the spirit we have access to his voice… glory!!!

 Rules of communication Number 2

START THE TALK AND WRITE DOWN

HIS RESPONSE FOR MORE.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall

direct thy paths (Proverb 3:6).

Have you been in a place where everyone is just

looking at each other, until someone starts the talk

there won’t be a word. The reason why we are

finding it hard to communicate has been that we

have never been asking and we are not ready to

hear... Have you been in a classroom where a

teacher comes all day to teach without the students

having notebooks, he won’t teach... that’s how the

Holy Spirit is. If you want to have a nice, good

cruising teaching by him, get your note and be

ready to write.

The truth is, the more you write and talk, the

whole day you both will keep talking. When we

were courting, Grace would call me repeatedly but

I would not have the time to take the calls because

the Holy Spirit and I were busy talking the whole

day, be ready to enjoy yours!

Wait a minute before we move to the next topic,

let’s look at this verse.

Knowing this first that no prophecy of the

scripture is of any private interpretation. For the

prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:

but holy men of God spoke as they were moved

(phero)̄ by the Holy Ghost. (2 peter 1:20)

"The Greek word "pherō̄" means to be led,

directed or carried. This implies that the promises

mentioned in the Bible that we claim, were given

to people as a result of their close relationship and

communication with God. It is now time for us to

receive a word for our own generation. This can

be achieved by spending time in intimate

communication with God, whether that be over a

cup of coffee or while walking down the hallways

of our school. He is inviting us to have a discussion

about our destiny and we should grab a pen,

notebook, or our phones to join this journey of

intimacy. I can guarantee that you will love this

experience so much that you will forget about

anything else, including a football match. Join this

train of intimacy now."

And the LORD answered me, and said, write the

vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may

run that readeth it. (Hebrew 2:2)

 Chapter Four
HOW TO RECEIVE RESPONSES

F
riends, the issue has never been the

response from God, it has always been our

ability to hear and understand his replies. He is

speaking to us all the time, but we may not always

recognize the channel through which he is

communicating. It's important to take the time to

listen and be open to receiving his messages in

different ways.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto

my sayings. (Proverb 4:20)

He speaks and gives replies, but there is a way he

brings it, so he says incline, in that way, you will

hear him, Glory!

Hebrew 1:1

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners

spake in time past unto the fathers by the

prophets.

Through Your Mind

Romans 9:1

I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience

also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.

The word "conscience" is often misunderstood as

being related to the mind. However, it is actually

your inner witness, the new spirit within you that

was born when you received the life of Jesus. Your

conscience is your inner voice that guides you

through the direction given by the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit speaks, He provides

direction and peace to your heart, which is

reflected in your thoughts and emotions. The

voice of your conscience is a result of the

interaction between the Holy Spirit and your new

inner spirit, guiding you towards the right path.

Through the Word

Hebrew 1:2

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son

Who is the Son of God? Jesus right? Who is

Jesus? THE WORD OF GOD

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was

with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

This means that whenever we seek guidance from

the Holy Spirit, we may receive a scripture as a

prompt in our spirit. This is the Holy Spirit

speaking to us, guiding us towards the answer we

seek. We should take the time to open and study

the scripture, as it contains the direction we need.

In this way, the Holy Spirit leads us and helps us

to find the answers we need through the wisdom

found in the Bible.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto

my path. (Psalm 119:105)

 Through your physical Ear

The Holy Spirit may communicate with us

through our ears, but this is a rare occurrence and

only happens after we have developed a deep

relationship and sensitivity to His other modes of

communication. Jesus, the apostles, and many

people around the world today have experienced

this type of communication with the Holy Spirit.

By spending time in intimacy with Him, we can

also join this journey and experience the Holy

Spirit speaking to us through our ears.

The Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and

Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

(Act 13:2)

 Chapter Five

CONFIRMING AND VALIDATING THE

RESPONSES IF THEY ARE OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT

W
hen we first start talking to the Holy

Spirit, we may feel unsure, but as we

spend more time with Him, we get to know Him

better and don't need external confirmation of our

relationship with Him. The beauty of a close

relationship is that we don't have to constantly seek

reassurance, as we are confident in our bond. One

thing that sets the Holy Spirit apart is that

everything He says about us is rooted in truth. And

as I write this, He wants me to share with you that

He loves you, PRECIOUS ONE. Are you ready

to receive His message of love?

Truth one: His Messages are in line with the

Word of God or experiences from a believer

Hebrew 1:1

…Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his

Son

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have

spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example

of suffering affliction, and of patience.

1 Peter 2:21

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ

also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye

should follow his steps.

The Holy Spirit often confirms His messages

through the written word of God or through the

experiences and guidance of other believers.

However, sometimes the instructions and

teachings that a believer receives from the Holy

Spirit can bring forth a new dimension and

revelation that is unique to their personal journey.

These fresh perspectives can contribute to the

overall understanding of God's word and will. This

leads us to the second truth: that the Holy Spirit

continually reveals new insights and truths to

believers who are willing to listen and follow His

guidance.

Truth Two: He brings you to a point of death to

the cares of the world and independence on

human Effort.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes

not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple...

(Luke 14:33)

But without faith it is impossible to please him ...

(Hebrew 11:6)

Maintaining regular communication with the Holy

Spirit helps we die to our fleshly desires, pride,

and worldly concerns, which can often interfere

with God's plans for us. This requires a sacrifice of

our own will and desires, which is often referred

to as "death." A key characteristic of someone who

has an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit is

a willingness to surrender their will and follow His

guidance, even when it may not align with their

own desires or plans. The Holy Spirit reveals to us

the will of God, which can sometimes be difficult

or painful, but it is worth following His voice as He

knows the end from the beginning. Let us give

glory to God for the guidance and wisdom that the

Holy Spirit provides us.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear

heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,

the things which God hath prepared for them that

love him, But God hath revealed them unto us by

his Spirit: for the Spirit searched all things, yea, the

deep things of God. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

Truth three: His communications are always

seasoned with love i.e His fruit and grace

LET'S GET TO THE FIELD

W
elcome to the family of believers!

Regular communication with the

Holy Spirit is essential for a close relationship with

Him. Start by setting aside distractions and

engaging in prayer in the Holy Spirit. Express your

love to Him and get ready to receive His guidance

by having your writing materials at hand. Pray in

the spirit and pay attention to any sweet, literal

presence of the Holy Spirit that you may feel. At

that point, ask Him questions or seek explanation

verbally. Wait for His reply, which may come

through one of the channels we discussed, such as

a scripture or inner witness within you. Continue

the discussion in the spirit and receive in the way

that you heard Him. Cultivate this intimacy with

the Holy Spirit every day and enjoy your

communion with Him.
