Assignment 1: Sound Design Essay
Project Title
CLO 1: Design sounds according to the desired concept that represents the planning and conceptual pattern to suit
project needs.

PLO 2: Demonstrate intellectual independence in the application of knowledge within the field of film and media
by applying critical, analytical and evaluation skills.
Project Objectives:
The assessment is divided into two main objectives:
1. To practice the student's observation on sound design in film
2. To demonstrate the student's thoughts on a sound design by using their writing skills

Project Brief:
Write a short essay about your thoughts on a feature film.
Two films, as below:

Analyse the sound design from the perspective of diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Briefly describe the meaning
of the two elements. Discuss any part of the movie (scene) that you think uses those two elements and describe it
in your own words. How they design it according to the space, or what you think the filmmaker decides to do
with a specific sound.

You may watch it several times to make the analysis more details.
