I. CÁCH SỬ DỤNG

➣ Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra ngay tại thời điểm nói
 I am learning English now.

➣ Diễn tả sự việc hoặc hành động nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng không nhất thiết phải
thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc nói
 I am quite busy these days. I am preparing for my exam.

➣ Diễn tả một sự việc đã lên kế hoạch từ trước, chắc chắn sẽ diễn ra trong tương lai gần
 I am flying to Singapore next week.

➣ Diễn tả hành động lặp đi lặp lại, gây khó chịu cho người nói, trong câu có sử dụng
“always”
 He is always coming late.

 III. DẤU HIỆU NHẬN BIẾT

➣ Trạng từ chỉ thời gian

 now: bây giờ
 right now: ngay bây giờ
 at the moment: lúc này
 at present: hiện tại
 at + giờ cụ thể (at 12 o’lock)
Ví dụ:
 I am not listening to music at the moment.
 It is raining now.
➣ Trong câu có các động từ mệnh lệnh
 Look!
 Listen!
 Keep silent!
Ví dụ:
 Listen! Someone is crying.
 Keep silent! The baby is sleeping.

QUY TẮC VÍ DỤ

Động từ kết thúc bởi “e”, ta bỏ “e” thêm “ing” Have- having
Make- making
Come-coming

Động từ kết thúc bởi “ee”, ta thêm “ing” mà không bỏ See- seeing
“e”

Động từ kết thúc bởi “ie”, ta đổi “ie” thành “y” rồi Die- dying
thêm đuổi “ing”

Động từ kết thúc bởi 1 nguyên âm (u,e,o,a,i) + 1 phụ Run- running

âm, ta gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm –ing. Stop - stopping
