1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this method statement is to explain the rainy season drainage construction for
Mukaab project.

2 SCOPE OF WORK
Rainy season drainage construction of Mukaab project.

3 DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
Construction of rainy season drainage contains the following items:
 Make the embankment.
 Make water storage point
 Installation water pump

6 METHODOLOGY

6.1 Construction Process

6.2 Make Embankment

During Zone B, Zone C, Zone D are high point and Zone E near finish, so, an embankment which is
1 meter in width and 1.5 meters in height is planned to be built around Zone A only. The
embankment to prevent water accumulation in Zone A, 4 water pump to take out Zone A inside rain
water to drainage channel.

6.3 Make a water storage point (normal rain)

According to the weather forecast, when the rainfall is not heavy, water storage points are set up in
the depression near the backfill area, and drainage ditches are built around the Zone A to gather the
rainwater to water storage point.

6.4 Heavy rains

When unusually heavy rains hit the site, the contractor intends to deal with it in the following ways:
(1) Find a professional drainage subcontractor for assistance.
(2) Use the water pump to take the water from storage point to the existing culvert location.
(3) The client needs to coordinate the water pumping out of plot A.

7 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

(1) Pay attention to Oil spillage from equipment, check the equipment every day before work starts,
ensuring the equipment can work properly.
(2) Maintain a distance of more than 30 meters between personnel and equipment.

(3) AII personnel involved should wear complete personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance
with safe work requirements.
(4) All the work shall comply with the approved safety management plan. Risk assessment shall be
submitted for approval before work commence.
(5) If the weather condition turns bad, (sand storms, wind storms, rains, flooding and hailstorms),
there should be immediate coordination with CHEC Safety Department and Construction
Management in cases where the works will be stopped. If necessary night observation or monitoring
will be carried out, adequate lighting must be prepared by the Construction Manager.

8 QUALITY ASSURANCE
（1）The depth of water storage points should meet the requirements of the method statement.
（2）The width and slope of the drainage ditch meet the requirements of the method statement.
