OBJECTIVE 6: Maintain learning environments that are responsive to community contexts.

Question: How do you maintain a learning environment that is responsive to your community’s context?
Describe the context in your area and share teacher practices that contribute to further improvement of
your community.
Answer: To maintain a healthy learning environment that is responsive, I should consider my students’
diversity, their multiple intelligences, and most especially the physical environment or atmosphere of the
classroom.
Students’ Diversity
As a teacher, I should consider my student’s race, values, beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.
Considering these factors to my learners will help them to become more responsive in the school and in
the community as well.
For example, the more I respect their social identity, the more they boost their self-esteem to interact and
be more responsive in the school and in the community where they live in.
Thus, they will feel more comfortable and safer in dealing with the environment while learning.
Multiple Intelligences
As a teacher, I need to consider my students multiple intelligences.
This is because I believe that each student has a different intelligence.
Some are good at verbal, music, visual. Some students are introvert (intrapersonal) while others are
extrovert (interpersonal).
Considering their multiple intelligences will help me as a teacher to find more ways to become more
creative in creating engaging activities that suit their needs.
For example, in creating activities, my activities should be varied so that my learners will feel the
“belongingness” while learning.
Also, they will surely enjoy what they are learning.
Thus, considering their multiple intelligences will help them feel more comfortable to the learning
environment they have.
Physical Environment or Atmosphere
As a teacher, one of my topmost concerns is the security of my learners.
To do this, I need to be a proactive teacher rather a reactive one, because I believe that prevention is still
better than cure.
For example, if I see some possible dangers like using chairs, the ceiling, etc, I will not wait until the
danger occurs before taking an action.
Thus, considering the security of my learners will help them to feel more secure and safe in the learning
environment.
Bottom Line:
Considering these factors will help me as a teacher to become more efficient and effective in dealing with
my students.
Also, these factors will help my students to increase their self-esteem to become more responsive in the
community where they belong.

OBJECTIVE 7: Review regularly personal teaching practice using existing laws and regulations
that apply to the teaching profession and the responsibilities specified in the Code of Ethics for
Professional Teachers.
Situation: How do you develop your teaching practice in accordance with the existing laws that apply to
teaching and the responsibilities specified in the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers? How do you
develop your teaching practice in accordance with existing regulations.
Answer:
As a professional teacher, I can develop my teaching practice through adhering to the existing laws that
apply to teaching and the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.
For example, one of the laws that applies to teaching is the Magna Carta for Public School Teacher or the
RA 4670.
I can develop my teaching practice through knowing and practicing my rights and the rights of my fellow
teachers such as the enjoyment of our academic freedom, duties, and teaching methods, etc.
Another, the RA 7836 or the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.
As a duly licensed professional teacher, I took a vow to follow the existing laws that apply to teaching
like the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.
I know that this Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers encapsulates how teachers deal with the state,
the community, the profession, the learners, stakeholders, etc.
For example, this act teaches me how to act decently with the authorities, what to do with the people in
the community, how to deal with my co-teacher and higher authorities in the profession, how to deal with
my students and stakeholders, etc.
Thus, regularly examining and following this law will help me cultivate and develop my teaching
practice.
In fact, I am always looking at myself as an empty cup that is always ready to learn and to be filled with
new knowledge, wisdom, and learning.
