Ans. Given, L.C.M = 132

Product of two numbers = 189024

We know, Product of two numbers = H.C.F × L.C.M

 189024 = H.C.F × 132

189024
 H.C.F =
132

H.C.F = 1432

Common factors are 5 and 5
Hence, H.C.F = 5×5 =25

22. Is 43564254 divisible by 6?

Ans. According to the rule of divisibility,

The prime factors of 6 are 2 and 3. So for a number to be divisible by 6, it must also be
divisible by 2 and 3.
Here, The last digit of given number is even, so it is divisible by 2. Now after adding all the
digits of the number, we get 33, which is divisible by 3.

Since the number is divisible by 2 & 3 so it is also divisible by 6.

23. Vishal bought a cooler for Rs 4500 and paid Rs 65 for its transportation. He sold the
cooler at a profit of Rs 150. For how much did he sell it?

Ans.

Cost price of cooler = Rs. 4500

Transportation cost for cooler = Rs.65
So, the total cost price of cooler = Rs. (4500 +65) = Rs. 4565

Profit on sale of cooler = Rs. 150

We know that,
Profit = Selling price – Cost price
 150 = Selling price – 4565
 Selling price =Rs.( 4565 +150)
Selling price = Rs. 4715
Hence, Vishal sold the cooler for Rs. 4715.

32. Arati works in bank. She sits at cash counter. When there are too many coins, she
does not count them. She weighs them. Now find how many coins are there in a sack of
5 rupee coins if it weigh:

a) 180kg

Ans. Since1kg = 1000 g. So, 180kg = 180000 g

180000
If one coin weighs 9g, then the sack weighing 180000g has  20000 coins in it.
9

b) 63kg

Ans. Since1kg = 1000 g. So, 64kg = 63000 g

33. Subhas has Rs.2100. He spends two- third of the money on Rice and another one-
third on Fish. [ Rice = Rs. 2800perkg And Fish = Rs.350 perkg]
(a) How many kilograms of Rice did he buy?
(b) How many kilograms of fish did he buy?

11
Ans. . We have, two-third of Rs.2100 = Rs. (2100/3)×2 = Rs.1400

One-third of Rs.2100 = Rs. (2100/3) = Rs. 700

(a) Money spent on rice = Rs. 1400

Price of per kg rice = Rs. 2800

So, for Rs.1400, he bought half kg rice.

(b) Money spent on fish = Rs.700

Price of per kg fish = Rs. 350

So, for Rs.700, he bought 2 kg fish.

34. Ritik plans to tile his kitchen floor white square tiles. Each side of the tile is 4cm. His
kitchen is 420cm in length and 180cm in breadth. How many tiles is required?

Ans. . We know that,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breath
Area of floor of kitchen = Length × Breath
= 420 ×180 = 75600 cm 2
Also we know, Area of square = Side ×Side
So, Area of one tile = 4×4 = 16 cm 2

Area of floor
Number of tiles required =
Area of one tile

75600
=  4725
16
Hence, Ritik needs 4725 tiles.

35. If Sima’s heart beats 72 times in one minute, how many times does it beat in one
hour.
(a) Now find out how many times it beats in one day.
(b) Count your heart beats to find out how many times your heart beats in one month?

(a) Number of times Sima’s heart beats in 1 minute = 72

Number of times Sima’s heart beats in 1 hour i.e. 60 minutes = (72×60) = 4320 times
So, the number of times Sima’s heart beats in one day i.e. 24 hours = (4320×24) =
103680

(b) On counting I found my heart beats 70 times in one minute.

12
My heart beats (70×60) = 4200 times in one hour
My heart beats (4200×24) = 100800times in one day
My heart beats (100800×7) = 705600 times in one week
My heart beats (705600×4) = 2822400 times in one month

36. Rahul and his wife work on Mohan’s farm. The Government has declared that farm
workers should be paid at least Rs 71 for one day’s work. But he pays Rs. 60 to Rahul
and Rs. 55 to his wife. If Rahul works for 55 days, how much money does she get? If his
wife works for 40 days, how much money does he get? Find the total money they earn
together.

Ans. Given,

Rahul’s one day wage =Rs. 60

So, Rahul’s wage for 55 days = Rs.(60×55) = Rs. 3300

Hence, Rahul will get Rs. 3300 for his work.

Wife’s one-day wage = Rs. 55

So, Her wage for 40 days = Rs. (55×40)= Rs.2200

Hence, Rahul’s wife will get Rs.2200.

Total money they earned together = Rs.(2200+3300)= Rs. 5500

38. Siya tried many different ways to make a boundary for 1200 square metres of land.

(a) He made rectangles P, Q, R of different sizes. Find out the length of the boundary
of each rectangle. How much copper wire will he get for these rectangles?

(b) Is it possible to make a rectangle with a still longer boundary?

Ans. (a)

Boundary of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Boundary for P = 2(40 +30) = 140 m

Copper wire for P = 140 metres

Boundary for Q = 2(60+20) =160 m

Copper wire for Q = 160 metres

Boundary for R = 2(1200+1)= 2402 m

Copper wire for R = 2402 metres

So, he will get 2402 metres of copper wires.

Ans.(b) Yes, a rectangle with still boundary can be made.

Boundary of a rectangle 1 cm i.e 0.1m wide and 10000 metre long

= 2(12000+ 0.1) = 24000.2 m
