Dear (Friend’s Name)

In your last letter you had mentioned about your upcoming project on space voyages. Hope
your project work is going on seamlessly. Do let me know all about it upon its completion. I’m
excited to share about the unexpected freezing temperature of my city yesterday. The city
resembled a hill station with the foggy atmosphere.

Yesterday when I got up from my bed I saw the sky blackened with clouds early in the
morning. At intervals, there were flashes of lightning along with deafening roars of thunder. I
expected heavy rains. However, there was a sudden change in the weather, and the city
experienced extreme coldness. It was 19.4 degrees Celsius. The IMD clarified that the
depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal had made the city’s weather cooler than places
like Bengaluru. It was surprising to witness such a cold noon but then I enjoyed the pleasant
weather. Fans and air conditioners were put to rest. All my family members decided to go on
a long drive in our car. It was an exhilarating experience as we all had great fun throughout the
ride. With hot beverages and some tasty snacks, I recollected our childhood days through my
memory pictures. I have recorded this day as ‘One day Ooty’ in my diary.

I am planning to take up tennis coaching during term II holidays since I like tennis best of all
the outdoor games. Do pay my regards to the elders in the house. Hope to hear from you
soon.

Your loving friend
