Hi Laudya,

I received your request for information about cognitive neuroscience vs social neuroscience. The
Director of Undergraduate studies in the Department of Psychology has offered the following
explanation.

Cognitive neuroscience is a larger category. Social neuroscience is about only one part of cognition,
specifically social cognition. So a social neuroscience program is more narrow and specialized.
