ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
Circular knitting needle size 15 (10 mm), 29 in. (73.5 cm) long or longer

GAUGE
1 ripple = about 4 in. (10 cm) from peak to peak.
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.

STITCH EXPLANATION
kfb (knit in front and back) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then knit through back of
same st – 1 st increased.

NOTES
1. Afghan is worked back and forth in rows of simple ripple pattern.
2. The ripple pattern consists of alternating kfb peaks and k2tog valleys. Take care to keep the peaks and
valleys of each row aligned.
3. Yarn color is changed to form stripes, following Stripe Sequence.
4. A circular needle is used to accommodate sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if
working with straight needles.

STRIPE SEQUENCE
Work 12 rows with A, 12 rows with B, 12 rows with C, 12 rows with D, 16 rows with A, 16 rows with B, 16
rows with C, and 16 rows with D, for a total of 112 rows in Stripe Sequence.

AFGHAN
With A, cast on 156 sts. Note: Cast-on counts as first row worked with A.

Row 1: * K5, k2tog, k4, kfb; rep from * to end of row – you will have 13 ripples.

With A, rep Row 1 for 10 more rows.

Cut A.
With B, rep Row 1 for 12 rows.
Cut B.
Rep Row 1 and continue to change yarn color following Stripe Sequence until all 112 rows of Stripe Sequence
have been completed.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
