Search the Catalog

1. From the Home dashboard, click the link to access guided buying. You may have to do this in future
exercises if you are not taken directly to the guided buying catalog.

2. Find and click Office Supplies.

3. Click Books and Publications.
4. Click Dayminder Brand Weekly Appointment Book and review the item details.
5. Click the SAP logo in the top left corner of the page to return Home.
6. Search for all items from either JCN Technologies or Schafer Office. a) Here are some possible searches
you could try:
a. JCN Schafer
b. JCN or Schafer
c. JCN Technologies or Schafer Office
d. “JCN Technologies” or “Schafer Office” b) Depending on your search terms, your results may
differ from the expected results. Can you explain why each of the example searches returns
different results?

7. Click the SAP logo to return to Home.

Refined searching: Keyboard cable
SEARCH REFINEMENT
8. Run a search for keyword cable. How many entries are returned?
a. Refine the search by excluding the term adapter from your search. You can exclude words from
your search by prefixing a word with a dash. In this case, enter cable -adapter in the search box.
b. Refine the search further by limiting it to items with a price between “$0.01 - $10.00 USD”. How
many entries are returned?

9. Sort the items by Price - highest to lowest and view the results.
10. Change the sort to Price - lowest to highest and view the results.

To add a favorite
FAVORITE GROUPS
1. Add a pack of rechargeable AAA batteries to your favorites:
i) Search for the part number from earlier in the activity, RAY45050.
ii) Find the Rayovac Renewal Reusable Alkaline Batteries - AAA and click the item to view the item
details.
iii) Click the Add to Favorites link for the item, then select Create New List. We will be creating a new
folder for our batteries.
iv) Provide a name for your choice (for example, “My Batteries”) and click Add.
v) The item is added to this new list.

 2. Click the SAP logo to return Home.
3. Click Your Favorites tab and review your lists.
4. Find the favorites list you’ve just created and click the Edit icon that looks like a pencil.
5. Click the title of the favorite list and add the year to the end (for example, “My Batteries 2021”), then click
outside of the area to finish the edit.
6. Create another favorites list for calculators (My Calculators, for example).

7. Add at least 2 different Texas Instruments calculators to your new favorites group.
8. Delete an item within a group:
i) a) Return to the Your Favorites page.
ii) b) Find your new calculator list.
iii) c) Locate a calculator item, mouse over it, and click the X to delete the item. Select Yes to confirm.
iv) d) If you’d like, you can delete the two folders you created today as well.

9. Click the SAP logo to return Home.
