Worksheet Objectives:
1. Identify an organization and situation you want to study over the remainder of the course.
2. Describe the organization and situation.

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Describe your organization.

In the spring of 2021 I began my college experience at Arizona State University. ASU is known
for being innovative and inclusive. Even before Covid-19, ASU was one of the leading
universities in online education and have since expanded their online programs. ASU offers a
wide veriety of degrees ranging from the medical field to construction.

2) Describe how Describe your role in the organization (it can be internal or external).

My current role at ASU is internal as I am still a student of the university. While I live close to
campus I am not particularly involved with any of the ASU extracurricular activities other than
watching sports. I plan on graduating from ASU in December of 2023.

3) Describe the situation. (see the Canvas instructions for details, especially about how
your situation will be analyzed from five different perspectives over the next five
modules)

I first remember hearing about Covid-19 in January of 2023. At the time I was a freshman in my
first semester of college studying Applied Biological Sciences. My goal was to run track for
ASU as a decathlete and become a physical therapist. Those plans changed over the next year as
Covid-19 took all of my classes to the online learning format. I found my online labs to be
particularly difficult to learn from. The track season was essentially cancelled because of Covid
and Pole vault gym I was training at closed until further notice. The more I studied online, the
more I realized I did not want to have 6 years of science classes through zoom. I told myself that
I would stick it out for one year and if things didn’t change I would change my major. With not
much changing in terms of education that year I changed my major to project management and
decuded to start working in construction again as I had done in highschool. Another factor that
played into this decision was the fact that during this year I tore my ACL assuring that I would

not run track for ASU which further discouraged me from staying on my innital path of Physical
Therapy school.
