1. Listen and read the story from the Get Smart Plus 4
textbook (page 94)
2. Listen and understand what other students are reading in
order to answer the questions given in the textbook.

Success Criteria Students should be able to:

1. Answer 2 out of 4 questions from Activity 2 from the Get


Smart Plus 4 textbook (page 95)
2. Listen to their friend scripty acting attentively and
understand what to answer in Activity 4 from the Get
Smart Plus 4 textbook (page 95)

Teaching and Learning Activities

1. The teacher greets the students.

2. The teacher starts the class with a short warmup activity. The activity is
Set Induction
called ‘’Dum Dum Dah Dah’’ where the students will mimic the
teacher’s movements while chanting ‘Dum Dum Dah Dah’.

3. Teacher does a recap on the last lesson.

4. Teacher explains to the students about comparative & superlative,


giving examples on how to identify on how to detect them (eg. higher
than, the tallest of/in/etc)

Presentation (Pre-listening):

1.Teacher and students go through the vocabulary words from the


textbook together using YouTube (race, javelin, high jump, champion).
Teacher asks the students if they are familiar with the words. Teacher
then explains the meaning of each word to the students

2. Students are asked to open their textbook (page 94)

3. Teacher will ask a few volunteers to read the story. Then, the teacher
will read the story together with the students.

4. Teacher will go through the story to help the students understand the
story better.

5. Teacher explains the value “believe in yourself” to the students.

6. Students will answer questions from activity 3 from the textbook, with
the teacher’s guidance.

Lesson Development Practice (While-Listening):

1.Teacher distributes a worksheet that is related to the grammar focused


(comparative and superlative) and story from the textbook to the
students.

2.Students are asked to do question 2 and 3 with teacher’s guidance


(refer to appendix)

3.Teacher will discuss the answers with the students.

4.Teacher will also take note to detect which students have high,
average, or low proficiency learners to prepare for next lesson’s remedial
worksheets.
Production (Post-Listening):

1. Teacher distributes a copy of a script to students. (refer to appendix)

2. Teacher divides the script into 3 parts.

3.Teacher will ask a few volunteers to do a small acting for each part.

4. Students will need to listen carefully to their friends’ acting in order to


be able to answer the questions given from the textbook.

5.Teacher and students will answer a question from activity 4 in the


textbook per script part.

Closure 1.Teacher recaps the lesson.

2.Teacher reminds the students to hand in their work.

3.Teacher praises students for their participation.
