1 INTRODUCTION
Anma Offshore Wind Energy Co., Ltd. (“AWC”) Is a special purpose company set up to develop the
Anma offshore wind farm project located adjacent to Anma Island, Yeonggwang-gun, South Jeolla
Province in the Republic of Korea. The Project is certified by two Electricity Business Licenses (“EBL”):
first with a permitted capacity of 224MW (“EBL 1”) and second with a permitted capacity of 304MW
(“EBL 2”) and is supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (“MOTIE”) since 2018 as part
of the government’s offshore wind promotion plan.

Enviros Korea has been awarded the contract to provide the Geophysical Survey Services within the

The objectives of the Surveys are as follows:

 To accurately determine bathymetry over the survey area by single beam and multibeam
echosounder.

 To identify all seabed infrastructure, features, targets, debris, or obstructions across the survey
area by side scan sonar

 Seabed classification and mapping of seabed morphology.

 To delineate the shallow geology to a depth of approximately 10m by a sub-bottom profiler.

 To delineate the deeper geology to 100m below seabed using Ultra High Resolution Seismic and
Single Channel Seismic.

 To provide information on geohazards (a geohazard is defined as a “Geological state or feature

which is or has the potential to be a hazard that poses a risk to one or more aspects of the
proposed activity or development at a site.”).

The survey work was categorized into two phases - deeper water and shallow water – based on the
available water depths across the survey areas. The deeper water operations (Phase 1) commenced
on 24-Apr-2023 and was completed on 06-Jul-2023. The survey operations for phase 1 although faced
numerous obstructions from fishing activities and associated surface & subsurface hazards, were able
to complete as per the requirements of AWC. The areas of survey in phase 1 included

1. Digital and analogue survey at Priority WTG, OSS, and Military Radar Tower locations

2. Digital and analogue survey at OWF Site Area-A and Area-C locations

3. Digital and analogue survey at tie line locations

4. Analog survey at OWF Site Area-B location

5. Analog survey at Export Cable Route locations (Two Segments)

6. MBES and SBP survey at Reconnaissance Survey Line

This Field and Operations report summarises the survey operations conducted in Phase1 detailing the
areas of survey, the equipment used for the survey, equipment performance, factors that affect the
survey operations and HSE events.

2 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work included Geophysical surveys covering the Export Cable Corridor (EXC) and the
nearshore approach.

The initial survey line plan for Export Cable Corridor (EXC) survey included:

 Main Lines with 25m line spacing.

 Cross Lines with 1000m line spacing.
 Survey route is divided into 7 blocks (Block-1 to Block-7).
 Water depth is ranging from 0m to 21m
 All lines were to be surveyed with MBES, SSS, MAG and SBP
 Lines at line spacing that ensure the complete coverage of the EXC site with MBES and obtain
200% coverage with SSS data.

2.1 Constraints for Survey and Revised Line Plan

Numerous fishing traps were observed scattered across the survey area. These traps were found
floating at sea surface and submerged below sea. These were hazards for the towed survey
equipment and hampered the survey operation. The EXR site route was covered with reconnaissance
survey to map the fishing gear.

The survey line plan priority was modified as following table

2.2 Priority UHRS Survey

The Priority UHRS survey consisted of mainlines of length 1km and two wing lines of length 650/700m
at 30m Offset from centreline. The mainlines are centred on the proposed WTG, OSS and MR
locations (Figure 3). The line heading was adjusted further depending on the fishing trap buoy or fish
net alignment within the WTG survey perimeter to avoid/minimise entanglement with fishing
equipment.

Survey of some of the survey lines within high-risk area (high dense buoy area) were conducted in low
spec mode (Towfish was flown at higher altitude) to avoid entanglement incident.

2.3 Geophysical Digital and Analog Site Survey – Area A & Area C

The geophysical survey at Area A consisted primarily of East-West lines. The survey could not cover
the entire Area A due to the presence of Fishing gears and buoys, both on surface and subsurface.
The conditions were similar at the Area C site. These surface and submerged fishing gear were
hazards to the towed survey equipment. These were mapped during the reconnaissance survey and
then the survey work was planned and executed as in Figure 04

6 OFFSHORE SURVEY OPERATIONS

6.1 DGPS POSITIONING SYSTEM

The Starfix GNSS as the primary positioning system and Veripos as the secondary positioning system
were mobilised for operations throughout the survey period. Throughout the survey, these reference
stations were utilized for the positioning system:

The StarPack unit consists of a survey grade GNSS combined L-Band receiver and powerful
processor, running Linux multitasking operating system. The receiver is capable of tracking all current
satellites (GPS, GLONASS) and is Galileo ready. StarPack can be extended with a second GNSS
card (in the same unit), to provide accurate, GNSS derived heading. In addition to GNSS
observations, the second card also provides L-Band functionality, creating an independent source of
corrections for backup.

The combination of receiver and processor provides robust multiple simultaneous precise position
calculations and extensive QC. For maximum system reliability, the internal software is embedded in a
flash memory. The system can be controlled and configured via the front panel, web interface or a
serial port. The embedded processing software of the StarPack GNSS receiver provides multiple
configurable simultaneous precise positioning solutions, the following are the main solutions that will
be used during the project.

Fugro’s Starfix.XP is a GPS and GLONASS positioning system that is based on orbit and clock
corrections obtained from a third-party supplier. Starfix.XP2 is a Precise Point Positioning (PPP)
technology, which distinguishes itself from the traditional differential approach as satellite errors are
not lumped together but estimated per source, per satellite. The GPS and GLONASS orbit and clock
corrections are computed separately, free of ionospheric and tropospheric effects. Further positional
enhancements are undertaken in Fugro’s software resulting in greater positional accuracy, typically 10
cm and 20 cm (95%) in the horizontal and vertical planes respectively

Accuracy in positioning depended upon the prevailing atmospheric conditions, the quality of the base
station coordinates provided, the location of system antennae, and the number of satellites observed/
available for the region.

The positioning system performed well and up to specifications during the survey and no downtime
was recorded due to signal failure or quality of coverage.

6.2 NAVIGATION LOGGING SYSTEM

Differentially corrected GPS position data from the DGPS positioning system was output to QINSy
Version 9 navigation software package. The navigation tracking and logging system comprised a
desktop computer, video monitors and a fix output box.

The QINSy software runs on compatible PCs. These PCs can be configured to allow connection to a
remote external monitor for the helmsman and additional ports for other input and output devices.
QINSy receives position data from the DGPS receiver and processes it to provide a real time,
alphanumeric or graphical navigation display on the PC and external monitor. The data received from
sensors such as echo sounder, and gyro can also be displayed and logged to a file.

The vessel’s positions as well as depths from the echo sounder were continuously logged into the
navigation system. The positioning data from the navigation computer were transmitted to the side
scan sonar, echo sounder and sub-bottom profiler systems real-time via navigational string and

annotated at 12.5m intervals for the geophysical site survey and 10m for the debris survey. The QINSy
navigation system performed well throughout the survey.

6.3 GYRO COMPASS

The TSS Meridian gyro system onboard the survey vessel is an on-line master heading reference
instrument employing the effect of the gravity and earth’s rotation to produce a true North reference.
The movements of three gimbals rotating at an X, Y and Z-axis cutting the earth’s magnetic field thus
producing a true magnetic heading dictates the gyro heading. The analogue signal is then converted
to digital signal via a repeater and transmitted via serial cable to the navigation computer.

The Gyro compass mobilised for the survey was functional throughout the survey period except when
the vessel power went off too long and had to wait for the system to calibrate and be reliably used.

6.4 MOTION REFERENCE UNIT

Saturn 10 - fibre optic gyrocompasses is a compact system providing attitude and heading for a vessel
when no stationary reference is available. In addition, INS models provide velocity and position data.

All units contain an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) with three linear accelerometers and three fibre
optic gyroscopes (FOGs). These devices are all navigation grade sensors designed to deliver
measurement accuracy and reliability under a wide range of operating conditions.

The IMU supplies high speed data to a powerful microprocessor running a Teledyne TSS-developed
inertial algorithm to deliver accurate measurements of attitude, heading, heave, velocity and inertial
position.

The Saturn includes an array of precision linear accelerometers and fibre optic gyroscopes (FOGs).
These sensors are mounted in a precision machined frame called the Inertial Measurement Unit
(IMU), so that each of the principal IMU axes includes one accelerometer and one FOG.

An inertial algorithm developed by Teledyne TSS uses raw data supplied by the IMU, together with
aiding data from GPS, EM Log, or DVL sources to produce the following outputs:

 identification of the true north meridian and therefore measurement of Saturn’s true heading

 measurement of Saturn’s angles of roll and pitch

 measurement of Saturn’s vertical displacement away from the mean vertical position (the

heave measurement)

 a velocity and position solution based on inertial navigation.

The Saturn transmits measurements to navigation and external survey system (Echosounder, Innomar
and Edgetech 6205) at a user-selectable update rate, or continuously at the fastest rate compatible
with the selected communication protocol

6.5 SOUND VELOCITY PROFILER

The conventional velocity profiler logs depth, temperature, salinity and velocity at 20cm interval while it
is lowered from sea-surface to seabed. A second set of reading is logged while recovering the system
to the sea surface.

The speed of sound propagation in the water column at the site was determined with an AML - BASE

X - SVP. The SVP measurement derived the average velocity that was input into the echo sounder,
USBL, and side scan sonar settings.

The measurements were conducted every 6 hours when conditions and weather are permitted. The
results of the measurements are reported in the attached Appendix G.

6.6 SINGLE-BEAM ECHO SOUNDER

A side-mounted Teledyne SBES E20 dual frequency Echo Sounder was used to record water depths
throughout the survey. The soundings were heave-compensated with a Teledyne INS-20 motion
sensor.

The recording parameters used in the survey were:

• Output frequency 33 and 200 kHz

• Recording Scale of 20m between 10m and 25m

Echo sounders have theoretical sub-centimeter accuracies in ideal conditions. However, in reality, sea
conditions and survey conditions usually mean the degree of accuracy is at least an order of
magnitude worse.

A soft copy of the raw soundings together with the heave compensated data was logged onto the
navigation computer hard disk together with the coordinates of the echo sounder transducer position.

6.7 MULTIBEAM ECHO SOUNDER & SIDE SCAN SONAR

Multibeam echo sounder and side scan sonar survey used Edgetech 6205 side mounted transducer
system.

The EdgeTech 6205 is a combined, fully-integrated, swath bathymetry and dual frequency side scan
sonar system. The 6205 uses multiple receive element transducers, and one discrete transmit
element, to produce real-time high-resolution 3D maps of the seafloor, while also providing co-
registered, simultaneous dual frequency side scan and bathymetric data. The high number of channels
enables superb rejection of multi-path effects, reverberation, and acoustic noise.

The 6205 provides bathymetry and dual frequency side scan, operating at 230/550 kHz or 550/1600
kHz. Bathymetry data are obtained on either the 230 kHz or the 550 kHz frequency, while the Side
Scan imagery is collected simultaneously on both frequencies. The sonar electronics and arrays are
mounted onto a streamline body that is deployed over-the-bow or side of a survey vessel. Sonar data
is transferred from the transceiver to the processing unit on board via an Ethernet network interface.
The standard configuration for the 6205 includes an integrated sound velocity sensor.

The system can interface with standard DGPS/RTK systems, MRUs, SVPs, CTDs, Altimeters, and
Gyros—altogether offering a powerful and versatile acquisition system that is suitable for many
different applications.

6.8 SUB-BOTTOM PROFILING SYSTEM

The shallow seismic within the survey area was acquired using a side-mounted Innomar SES-2000
Medium sub-bottom profiling system. The raw sub-bottom signals were recorded digitally by Innomar
recording system. The digital copies of the SBP data were used for interpretation. The acquisition and

recording parameters were as follows:

Recording Length : 45ms

Delay : 12.5ms
Firing Rate : 60 msec / 8-12kHz

6.9 MAGNETOMETER

During the data acquisitions, Geometric 882 Magnetometer was used for recording magnetic data.
The survey is for the detection of metallic debris, cable and magnetic object on or below seabed. A
single G-882 was used. The sensor alignment was set up to allow better data collection along the
center-alignment line.

This equipment is efficient to detect buried pipeline and metal which can’t be seen SSS image. The
magnetometer is attached 10 meters behind the SSS at speeds of around 3.5 knots. Ideally, the
Towfish should be at a distance of approximately 3 times the length of the vessel to avoid disturbances
of the magnetic field related to the vessel herself. Due to limited water depth and the prevailing
conditions, the Towfish was towed in piggyback setup. The Towfish position during survey operation
was less than 3 times the length of vessel. The systematic noise from vessel body may have
contributed to the degradation of the quality of the recorded magnetometer data.

7.4 MULTIBEAM CALIBRATION

A series of Edgetech 6205 MBES system calibration was carried out prior / in between the survey
operation. The original / initial calibration was partially blocked by the presence of fishing activity
around the calibration location. The calibration was repeated after redeployment of the side mount
pole , the calibration had to be repeated. The calibration reports are presented as Appendix E and the
results are tabulated in Table 15:

8 DATA PROCESSING
8.1 NAVIGATION

All navigation data and charting were processed off-line onboard the vessel using QINSy version 9.
The vessel and other sensors such USBL and SBP positioning data were checked and processed
before being inputted to AutoCAD to generate survey track plots.

The drawings produced onboard for the site survey include all following node position:

- Antenna track plot

- CDP/CMP track plot
- SBP track plot
- SSS track plot
- Magnetometer track plot

8.2 BATHYMETRY

Raw bathymetric soundings were checked for erroneous spikes using QINSy Qimera. All bathymetric
soundings recorded during the survey are reduced to Mean Sea Level (MSL) using MSS Tide Data.

The QINSy version 9 Integrated Navigation System with MBES data acquisition module records the
swath bathymetry, transducers position, vessel’s orientation and motions (heave, pitch, roll, and yaw),
date, and time.

The raw MBES data for each ping are plotted as time series graphs for initial data quality control. They
are checked for erroneous spikes that are either adjusted or rejected. The resulting data are then
replayed to generate a new “clean” MBES data set, which is also corrected for tidal variations and
sound velocity. The corrected MBES data are displayed in longitudinal profile views, plan views, and
swathe views and are cleaned, filtered, and merged to detect miss-ties.

The processed MBES depth data are exported as sounding grids that are used for the generation of
bathymetry soundings, contours, profiles, XYZ data, and sun illumination displays. The DTM/sounding
grids are generated based on the following parameters:

 Cell/bin size : 0.50 x 0.50m

 Attribute : Mean Value
 Algorithm : Triangulation

The processed MBES backscatter data are exported as raster datasets for detailed investigation of the
seabed morphology , mapping of features and seabed sediment classification.

8.3 SIDE SCAN SONAR

The sonar data was interpreted onboard the vessel during the preparation of the preliminary report.
The sonar images were classified based on amplitude, surface texture, and roughness.

Anomalous features apparent in the data were assigned a designation and plotted intuitively from
survey line to survey line. The strength of sonar (high, moderate, low) and uniformity of tone (texture
whether smooth or rough), and the presence of acoustic shadows were used to identify features and
map the seafloor sediment type.

Side scan sonar data set (JSF/XTF) is loaded to SONARWIZ application to check the positioning data
and data quality and plotted as mosaic data. Side scan sonar anomaly identification was conducted in
the SONARWIZ application. All the identified anomalies are then documented in the anomaly table/list
and plotted as a DWG file.

8.4 SUB-BOTTOM PROFILER

The sub-bottom profiler data was interpreted onboard the vessel during the preparation of the
preliminary report. Following onboard data QC, processing, and interpretation were conducted:

- Extract the positioning data from the SES3 dataset and plot it as a DXF track plot.
- In case of a positioning problem SES3 dataset, injection of corrected NAV was carried out on
the SEGY dataset.
- Convert the SES3 dataset to SEGY dataset.
- Load SEGY dataset into KINGDOM and/or SONARWIZ application to check the heave
correction.
- Data interpretation was done in KINGDOM and/or SONARWIZ application and generate the
ISOPACH Map.

Further all the data will be loaded and interpreted in KINGDOM and/or SONARWIZ application and the
ISOPACH Map will be generated for the final report.

8.5 MAGNETOMETER

The magnetometer data was recorded directly to Qinsy Navigation System. The magnetometer log
data was then plotted in XLS to evaluate if there were any significant magnetic anomalies within the
survey line. All the identified magnetic anomalies the documented in the anomaly table/list and plotted
as a DWG file. Further the same process will be executed over the entire survey site.

10 HSSE RECORD AND PERFORMANCE

Health, Safety and Environment has the highest priority during the survey operations. All activities
associated with the survey work were ensured to comply with all HSE regulations. All HSE related
events have been studied, evaluated and remedial actions undertaken, if required including further
training, awareness campaigns, restructuring processes to ensure that similar events do not recur. The
survey was completed without any lost man-hours or major incidents. The survey operations were
completed with no reportable incidents being recorded and with no lost man-hours with regards to
Health, Safety or the Environment. No illnesses or injuries were recorded.

HSSE induction was carried out by the Officers to each new crew that has just joined the vessel during
mobilisation.

Toolbox meetings were held prior to the commencement or a change in survey operations. A safety
induction drill was carried out before the survey operations started with good response from both the
marine and survey crew. Appropriate personal safety equipment, including safety boots, hard hats and
life vests, was worn at all times, especially during back-deck operations.

The hazard safety observation card submission meets the target. This performance shows the good
level of safety awareness of all POB.

The HSE statistics recorded and monitored during the survey campaign onboard MV Enviros Surveyor
and RV Tamsa are tabulated in Table 20 and as pie diagram in Figure 13.
