Part I. Direction: Solve the following problems below. Show all pertinent solutions. Submit your output
in our google classroom. (30 points)
1.) A fifth grader says a square is not a rectangle because a square has four congruent sides and
rectangles don’t have that. A second fifth grader says a square is a type of rectangle because it is a
parallelogram and it has four right angles.
(a) Which child is right?
(b) How can you use the definitions to help the other child understand?
2.) Suppose P={parallelograms}, Rh={rhombus}, S={squares}, Re={rectangles}, T={trapezoids}, and
Q={quadrilaterals}. Organize the sets P, Rh, S, Re, T, and Q using Venn diagram.

Part II. Direction: Do what is asked in the following: (50 points)

1.) Observe 5 objects in your environment that are symmetrical and can be divided by lines of
symmetry. Draw them or take a photo of them and identify the lines of symmetry by drawing
broken lines on it.

2.) Invent a new tessellation of your own design. Be creative and innovative as possible!
