NASKAH DIALOG BAHASA INGGRIS

Kanaya: “Hello everyone, my name is Kanaya Callista Putri absence seventeen. And this is my
classmate.”

Dien: “I am Dien Nugraeni Al Hasana, absence ten. I live in Diwongso Walitelon. Anyway where do
you live?”

Kanaya: “I live in Prapak, Kranggan. By the way, what are we going to do today?”

Dien: “we will talk about the food recipes we made at P5”

Kanaya: “Let’s remember what we created. It seems like last week we made typical Kalimantan food,
namely Dawet Samarinda and Soto Banjar. Maybe... Dien will tell you the recipe for Dawet
Samarinda, and I will tell you the recipe for Soto Banjar.”

Dien: “Okay, we will start making Dawet Samarinda. First of all prepare tools and materials,
Ingredients:
-2 packs of Pandan Rice Cendol
-1 pack of grass jelly that has been washed and cut
-Enough white sweetened condensed milk
-500 ml ice water
-Ice
How to make:
1. Strain the cendol and discard the water it contains, then wash and drain.
2. Stir in white sweetened condensed milk and ice water and adjust the taste according to taste.
3. Serve the cendol and grass jelly in a glass, with ice cubes then pour in the milk. Ready to drink. So
that’s how to make Dawet Samarinda. Now let’s move on to making the soto banjar.”

Kanaya: “Honestly, making soto is easy. First of course, we have to prepare the ingredients. That is,

- 1 kg of chicken meat, bone-in.

- 10 small shallots (or one medium red onion)
- 8-10 cloves garlic
- 1 segment (2 cm) ginger, roasted
- 1 teaspoon peppercorn
- 3 candlenut, roasted
- 2 cm turmeric
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Enough cooking oil for sautéing
- 1 stalk lemongrass, crushed, set aside
- 2 lime leaves

Then the steps are:

1)Boil chicken in enough water just to cover the chicken, boil until boiling then discard all that 1st
water. Add another water about 2 to 2½ liter and cook the chicken again until boiling. Lowest the
heat.
2)Puree all ingredients A (except oil for cooking). Heat enough oil on a skillet or a wok, saute ground
spices together with herb (B) lemongrass and kaffir leaves, stir-fry until fragrant and oily for few
minutes, pour it into chicken pan.
3)Continue to cook for a few more minutes. Take and strain chicken from the broth. Then fry the
chicken just until dry on the skin, then roughly shredded. Set aside.
4)Put the shredded fried chicken into a bowl, pour with hot soto broth. Serve hot with other
complementaries. And then the soto banjar is ready to eat.

That’s all how we make Soto Banjar and Dawet Samarinda. If you want to try it at home, you can chat
me and I’ll share the recipe.”

Dien: “that’s all from us, if there are any wrong words please forgive. Wassalamu’alaikum
warahmatullahi wabarakatuh”
