The Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is organizing this year the second International School Olympiad for foreign citizens studying in secondary educational organizations. The competitions in Russian and English, geography, world history and international relations will take place in two stages: online qualifying tests (from 10 to 30 November 2023) and written tests (January-February 2024) online or in person in selected countries (to be determined later). There is no fee for participation in the contest. The working languages are Russian and English. The results are to be published in March 2024. The winners of the competition are given the opportunity to study at MGIMO free of charge under the programs of bachelor’s degree or in the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens. Other participants with the best results will also have the opportunity to enroll at the University on a commercial basis. General regulations. 1.1. This regulation of the competition "MGIMO International School Olympiad" (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) establishes the procedure for organizing and conducting the Competition, its organizational and methodological support, as well as the procedure for determining the winners and prize-winners of the competition and their rights. 1.2. The main goals and objectives of the Competition are to identify the most gifted and prepared citizens of foreign countries (provided for in paragraph 1.4.), students in the final grades of secondary educational institutions, creating the necessary conditions to support talented youth abroad, promoting scientific knowledge, selecting school graduates who have shown talent and abilities to study at the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation" (hereinafter - MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia). 1.3. The competition provides for the identification of the level of competence formation in one or more of the following disciplines: Russian, English, fundamentals of geography, world history and international relations. 1.4. Students enrolled in educational programs of secondary educational organizations with citizenship of the following states can participate in the Competition on a voluntary basis: « Kyrgyz Republic; * Mongolia; © Republic of Azerbaijan; + Republic of Armenia; © Republic of Belarus; © Republic of India; © Republic of Kazakhstan; ¢ Republic of Tajikistan; African countries; © Turkmenistan; 1.5. There is no fee for participation in the Contest. 1.6, The working languages of the Contest are Russian and English. 2. Stages of the Competition. 2.1, The competition is held in two stages: © the qualifying stage, which includes registration of participants and their performance of qualifying competitive tasks; © Final stage: completion of the final written work. 2.2. The qualifying stage is conducted remotely using the services of the official website of the Competition - http://int-olymp-mgimo.ru . 2.3. The final stage is held in a face-to-face or remote format separately for each country whose citizens take part in the Competition. The venues and format of the final stage are determined by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 2.4, The calendar plan of the stages is established by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 3. Organi: tion of comprehensive support of the Competition. 3.1. Organizational, methodological, personnel and resource support of the Competition is carried out by the Organizing Committee (Organizing Committee) The competition, which is approved by the order of the Rector of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Social Work and International Relations. 3.2. The composition of the Organizing Committee of the Competition is formed from representatives of the MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. 2 The Organizing Committee of the Competition is headed by the Chairman, who is appointed by the order of the Rector of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. 3.3. The Organizing Committee of the Competition: determines the regulations and the calendar plan of the Competition; forms the composition of the methodological commission and the jury of the Competition; approves the candidates of the winners and prize-winners of the Competition; considers conflict situations that have arisen during the Competition; provides organizational, informational and technical support of the Competition. 3.4. The Methodological Commission, which is composed of representatives of the MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, develops materials and evaluation criteria for competitive tasks, instructions to participants and methodological recommendations for conducting stages of the Competition; 3.5. The jury of the competition, the composition of which is formed from representatives of the MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia: © checks and evaluates all the contest tasks completed by the participants; © carries out the rating of participants (by the number of points scored) and determines the candidates of finalists, winners and prize-winners of the Competition; © participates in the consideration of appeals of participants of the Competition; ¢ submits reports on the conduct of the qualifying and final stages to the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 3.6. Information support of the Contest is carried out on a separate page of the MGIMO information portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia http://int- olymp-mgimo.ru . 3.7. Contacts of the Organizing Committee with the participants, their parents (legal representatives) are carried out by e-mail of the organizing committee - e-mail: info@int-olymp-mgimo.ru 3.8. Financial and other resources of the Competition are provided at the expense of budgetary and extra-budgetary sources in accordance with the decision of the Rector of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. 4. The procedure for determining the winners and prize-winners of the Competition. 4.1, The winners of the Competition are the persons awarded by the results of the final (final round) with diplomas of the Ist degree. 4.2. The winners of the Competition are persons awarded with diplomas of the 2nd degree according to the results of the final. 4.3. The lists of winners and prize-winners of the Competition are approved by the Organizing Committee of the Competition on the recommendation of the jury. 5. The rights of the winners and prize-winners of the Competition. 5.1. The winners of the Competition in Russian, by the decision of the Rector of the University, are given the opportunity to study at MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia free of charge under the programs of Russian-speaking and English-speaking bachelor's degree for foreign citizens in accordance with the current regulations of the Russian Federation, according to the program of the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens (the list of training areas and faculties is given in clause 5.4, of the Regulations). 5.2. The winners of the Competition receive the opportunity to enter the places of Russian-speaking and English-speaking bachelor's degree for foreign citizens with tuition fees (the list of training areas and faculties is given in paragraph 5.4, of the Regulations) on a priority basis on the basis of the portfolio competition. 5.3. The validity period of the diplomas of the winners and prize-winners of the Competition is two years following the year of the Competition. 5.4. General regulations. 1.1. These Regulations have been developed in accordance with the Regulations on the MGIMO International School Olympiad Competition, approved by the Order of the MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia dated 27.09.2023 No. 388-II. It determines the procedure for holding the MGIMO International School Olympiad Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Competition). 1.2. The competition is held in two stages: ¢ — Remote qualifying stage using the services of the Contest Website (hitp://int-olymp-mgimo.ru ); * Final stage: completion of the final written work. The final stage is held in a face-to-face or remote format separately for each country whose citizens take part in the Competition. The venues and format of the final stage are determined by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 1.3. The specific dates of the stages are determined by the annual Calendar Plan approved by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 1.4. The working language of the Competition is determined separately for each country (group of countries): In the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the working language of the Contest is Russian; in Africa, the Republic of India and Mongolia, the working language is English. 7” j 7 1.5. The regulatory documents of the Competition are posted on the official website of the Competition - http://int-olymp-mgimo.ru . 2. Registration of Contest participants. 2.1, To participate in the Competition, the registration procedure on the Official website of the Competition should be completed - http://int-olymp- mgimo.ru . 2.2. Prior to registration, participants and their parents are advised to familiarize themselves with the Regulations on the MGIMO International School Olympiad Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations). 2.3. The parent (legal representative) of a minor participant, or a participant who has reached the age of majority, confirms familiarization with the Provision specified in clause 2.2. and provides the organizer of the Contest with consent to the collection, storage, use, dissemination (transfer) of the participant's personal data. Confirmation is provided (marked in electronic form) when passing the procedure for creating a participant's personal account on the official website of the Contest. 2.4. When registering on the official website of the Competition, it is necessary to fill in all the fields of the registration form (Surname, first name, patronymic (if applicable), date of birth, email, phone number, country, city, name of the educational institution), confirm that the participant or his legal representative is familiar with the Regulations on the Competition, and agree to the Privacy Policy the site. 2.5. After successful registration, the participant gets access to the Personal Account. 2.6. In case of difficulties during registration or when working in the personal account, the participant can contact the site administrator by e-mail of the Organizing Committee of the Contest - info@int-olymp-mgimo.ru . 3. The order of the qualifying stage of the Competition. 3.1. The qualifying stage takes place in a remote format using a personal account on the official website of the Competition http://int-olymp-mgimo.ru . Instructions for passing the qualifying stage are posted on the official website of the Competition. 3.2. The qualifying stage consists of several tests that test knowledge in the following areas: Russian, English, interdisciplinary aspect (fundamentals of geography, world history, international relations). 3.3. Each test consists of 50-100 tasks with a choice of answer. The exact number of tasks is determined by the methodological commission of the Competition. 3.4. The time to complete each test is 60 minutes. 3.5. The opportunity to take the test opens simultaneously for all participants of the Competition. 3.6. The date and time of each test are published on the official website of the Contest no later than 72 hours before the start of the test. 3.7. No more than one test can be conducted per day. 3.8. During the test, the participant does not have the opportunity to return to the previous questions. Going to the next question means sending the participant's answer. After the end of the test time, all tasks are automatically sent for verification 3.9. The maximum number of points for 1 test is 100 points, the minimum is 0 points. 4, The procedure for the final stage of the Competition. 4.1, The final stage of the Competition is held in person or remotely in writing separately in each country of the Competition. The format of the final stage is determined by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. 4.2. The Competition venues are determined and approved by the Organizing Committee of the Competition. Information about the venue, date and time of the event is posted on the official website of the Contest. 4.3. Participants approved by the Competition jury based on the results of the qualifying stage are allowed to pass the final stage. 4.4. Before passing the final stage at the venue, the participant provides the Fepresentative of the Organizing Committee with a paper certificate (copy) from the educational organization in which the participant is studying, confirming his status as a student. 4.5. The final stage of the Competition is held in full-time or distance format and consists of writing one written work consisting of three blocks of tasks - Russian, English, interdisciplinary aspect. The writing of the work takes place without interruptions, re-writing is not provided, 4.6. The instructions for passing the final stage of the Competition and the rules of appeal procedure for this stage are approved by the Organizing Committee of the Competition and published on the official website of the Competition, 4.7. The results of the final stage of the Competition are publ lished on the official website of the Competition, and are also sent to the participants to the e- mails specified during registration. 5. The Results of the Competition. 5.1. The winners of the Competition are the persons awarded by the results of the final (final round) with diplomas of the Ist degree.
