Re: Course Add/Drop Period - Online Selection of Courses, Retaking of Courses or Change of Time
Schedule (Fall 2023 Final Round)

A) Retake compulsory course(s) and swap timetable before Online Final Round Add/Drop Period
(Deadline: 12:00noon, September 4, 2023)

1. Students who need to retake their compulsory course(s) or swap their compulsory pattern with another
classmate should send the completed application Form 1(2023).pdf to the Departmental Administrative
Staff of their study programme at Registry Office by 12:00noon, September 4, 2023 (Monday) via the
University’s webmail (student no@hksyu.edu.hk). (Please refer to the Departmental Administrative Staff at:
https://registry.hksyu.edu/contact-us.html and DO NOT send to Registry’s email).

2. The results can be viewed in WebSIMS after 2:30pm, September 6, 2023 (Wednesday) for successful
applications.

B) Final Round Online Course Selection for Add/Drop/Swap Elective/GE Courses

(September 9, 2023 – September 11, 2023)

1. Students who intend to add/drop/swap Elective(s) or GE Course(s) are required to login to the Online
Course Selection System (https://sims.hksyu.edu/course-selection/) according to your Year of Study in
following order:

2. List of available Electives/GE course(s) during Online Course Selection will be announced by your study
programme no later than September 7, 2023 (Thursday) via Moodle.

3. Re-open of “Mock Course Selection system” for Online Add/Drop/Swap Elective/GE Courses
We will re-open the “Mock Course Selection System” (https://sims.hksyu.edu/mock-course-selection/) from
September 7 - 9, 2023 in following order in order to let students get familiar with the functions of the Online
Course Selection System:

C) Last chance to Add/Drop courses/Swap Elective/GE courses (September 11, 2023)

Students who miss the schedule of add/drop/swap elective/GE courses online may submit the application by
one of the following methods:

I. In person
Students should submit the application form (i.e. Form 2(2023).pdf) to the Departmental
Administrative Staff of their study programme at Registry Office (RHB305 or RHB306) for processing
on September 11, 2023 (Monday) during the following opening hours:
10:00am – 12:30pm; 2:00pm to 5:00pm
(Students are required to present their Student ID card for verification)

II. Email
Students should submit the completed application Form 2(2023).pdf to the Departmental
Administrative staff of their study programme for processing on September 11, 2023 (Monday) via
their University’s webmail (student no@hksyu.edu.hk) during the following opening hours:
10:00am – 12:30pm; 2:00pm to 5:00pm
(Please refer to the Departmental Administrative Staff at: https://registry.hksyu.edu/contact-us.html and
DO NOT send to Registry’s email).

The results can be viewed in WebSIMS after 9:00am, September 12, 2023 (Tuesday) for successful
applications.

Registry staff will prioritize to process the in-person application and then email application. All late
application will not be considered unless extenuating circumstances for our further consideration.

D) Special Add/Drop Period (September 12, 2023 – September 15, 2023)

(“Special Add/Drop Period” is only applicable to students who found any error to their existing
timetable or late applications due to extenuating circumstances with the approval by the Registrar)

1. All students are required to double check their class schedule at WebSIMS in Fall 2023 under “My Time
Table” after 9:00am, September 12, 2023 (Tuesday) and report any error (if any) to the Departmental
Administrative Staff of their study programme during the Special add/drop period either in-person during
the following Opening Hours or via Email before 5:00pm, September 15, 2023 (Friday)

Opening Hours
(MON-FRI) 10:00am - 12:30pm; 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Saturday, Sunday, Public holidays and school holidays: Closed

Late application will not be considered.

2. The Registry reserves the right of final decision on the eligibility of students for special add/drop period.
