Introduction:

In Week Six, I had the opportunity to experience how Excel can be used for analyzing a company's risk
register. Specifically, I worked with open purchase order amounts given from the ERP team and filtered
those above 100000. After that, I conducted a risk analysis using vendor location and receipt date which
was imported into Excel via Vlookup. By giving each vendor rank according to their score (rank 4 = 1; rank
5 = 2), quartiles were created in order to determine the maximum amount of any particular vendor’s risk
level.

Activities:

This week started my activities risk register caused by vendors and its affecting open PO
amount.

 First, I opened PO amount given from the ERP team and started filtering above
100000. After that, last risk analysis was done by using vendor location and
receipt date which were imported into Excel with a vlookup function.
 A score system was created where vendors in Rank 4 would get a score of 1
while vendors in Rank 5 would get a score of 2.
 Then quartiles were made to find out maximum amounts if any vendor is found
in Quartile 4 or Rank 5 which indicates higher risks associated with them.
Finally, all three scores (country score + quartile score+ individual vendor's
score) are multiplied together to determine whether it is high medium or low-
risk transaction for further analysis and decision-making accordingly.
 This process has been very helpful as it allows us to quickly identify risky
transactions without having too much manual effort involved so that we can take
necessary steps ahead of time before any potential damages occur due to
fraudulent activities or other financial losses related issues associated with certain
vendors/transactions etc.,

Learning and Outcomes:

Overall this exercise has been quite beneficial as far understanding how Excel can be used
effectively within an organization’s internal processes especially when analyzing large volumes
of data efficiently & accurately thus saving valuable resources & manpower costs over time.

Conclusion:

In conclusion therefore ,this project proved most beneficial overall since its outcomes enabled us better
manage potential risks associated both internally & externally while simultaneously increasing efficiency
across entire operation which ultimately resulted improved bottom line performance due increased profits
realized over time thanks largely successful implementation strategies put forth earlier .

Upcoming week plan;

 How project management team works
