Introduction:

This week I learned the importance of analyzing vendors when making business decisions. It is
essential to research and understands a vendor’s capabilities, reputation, and pricing structure. In
order for companies to effectively analyze their vendors on an ongoing basis, it is important for
them to create dashboards that provide easy access and visibility into these metrics. Dashboards
allow higher-level executives in an organization quickly review key performance indicators
(KPIs). This type of visual representation also makes it easier for decision-makers at all levels of
an organization to identify potential risks associated with certain vendors so they can be addressed
proactively rather than reactively after problems have already occurred.

Lastly, I worked in Supply Chain Department, where I got a chance to analyze transportation costs
by using solver tools which helped me find the best route from origin point A to destination B
along with the minimum cost incurred on it. This activity made me understand that the supply
chain is an important part that should be taken into consideration while making any business
decisions related to logistics or distribution network design etc.…

Activities:

This week started my activities analyzing risks caused by vendors.

 I am writing to you today to report on the progress I have made this week
with gathering data from a company.
 The information included item numbers, descriptions of projects and titles
of suppliers as well as their promised delivery dates and actual receipt dates.
 After collecting all the data, I started calculating whether there were any
delays or if it was delivered ahead of schedule.
 With that knowledge in hand, I then gave ranks to vendors based on project
performance before creating a dashboard for presentation purposes for
higher stakeholders.

  The process was quite time-consuming but worth it in the end because now
we have an accurate representation of how each vendor is performing
against our expectations which can be used when making decisions about
future contracts or partnerships with them going forward.

 It also allows us to identify areas where improvements can be made so that

we are able to get better results next time around should we choose to work
together again in future endeavors.

Learning and Outcomes:

 This has been an invaluable experience for me personally and professionally because not
only did it give me insight into different methods used when dealing with large amounts of
data, but it also taught me how important accuracy is when presenting such information.

Conclusion:

Overall, this week has been very informative as I was able to learn more about how
companies should approach evaluating their current and potential vendors in order to ensure long-
term success while minimizing risk exposure wherever possible by utilizing dashboard analytics
tools like KPIs.
