helps attain the information that we need. It is hard for
us to understand some concepts of the stories or texts
if we don’t know the elements (characters, setting,
events, problem and solution) and how to identify
them. It is very necessary to understand the where,
what, who and why involved in the story or text to
acquire proper comprehension.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the Today we are going to listen a story entitled “Surprise
new lesson Gift.”

Surprise Gift
Lucy made a beautiful dress for Lyn. Lyn wanted a dress
for her upcoming birthday. She asked Lucy if she could
do it. Lucy agreed. She made a beautiful dress for Lyn.
On her birthday, Lyn acknowledged Lucy’s effort in
making her dress. Lucy said that she made it
wholeheartedly for her birthday. Lyn tried to pay Lucy.
However, Lucy did not accept the money since it was
her surprise gift for Lyn and that she was grateful for
their friendship.

3. Where did the story happen?
4. When did the story happen?
5. Why is it Lucy did not accept Lyn’s payment in making
her dress?

(5Ws & H)
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing Now, I will read another story. Then, fill in the table
new skills # 2 with the correct information. Listen carefully!

A Visit to Grandpa
Last Sunday, Faith and her sister Ana walked to their
Grandpa’s house. On the way, they stopped by the fruit
market and bought an orange each and ate them as they
walked. While crossing through the park, Faith picked
some flowers for her cousin Mae. They looked at the
people at the park. They passed by at the house of Mr.
Borres. Finally, they arrived at Grandpa’s house.
Grandpa came out and gave them both a big hug.

F. Developing mastery I will read again a story. As I read the story, you have to
listen carefully the details and try to see pictures in your
mind about the setting and what happened to the
characters in the story. On your paper, draw the
pictures that you see in your mind. Then, you are going
to present your output to the class.

More than the Clay

One Sunday morning, Mae wants to play with clay in the
room. She gets the tray and puts in the clay. Her brother
Ray tries to get the clay but Mae asks her younger
brother to stay away from the tray. She explains to Ray
that the clay might fall from the tray. However, Ray
explains to his sister Mae that he will only play with the
clay. He will just borrow the clay to play all day. Mae
gives her half of the clay to her younger brother Ray.
Ray is very happy because he receives half of the clay
from his sister Mae. He embraces his sister and thank
her for her kindness. Mae is also happy for her younger
brother Ray and assures him that she loves him more
than the clay.

table with the correct information.

Untie the Necktie

Kieth and Charlie are my cousins and friends,
too. During summertime, our family spend vacation in
the province. Last May, we went to Lucban to celebrate
the town fiesta with the family of Daniel, one of our
close friends, too.
Kieth, Charlie, Daniel and I joined a relay where
the main challenge is to untie the necktie of the
mannequins. Each competing group unties the neckties
of the ten mannequins as fast as they could. The team
who is able to untie the neckties of the ten mannequins
in the shortest time wins the game.
Everybody cheered as each competing group
tried their best to untie the necktie as fast as they could.
After a few minutes, our group was declared the winner.
Why? We believe in teamwork that’s why we planned
quickly how to win the game.
When the host family learned that we won the
game, they cooked fried chicken and spaghetti for us.
Our family shared gallons of ice cream and several
bottles of drinks.

V. REMARKS
Indicate special cases including but not limited to
continuation of lesson plan to the following day in case of
re-teaching or lack of time transfer of lesson to the
following day, in cases of class suspension, etc.
VI. REFLECTION
Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher.
Think about your pupils progress.

What works?

What else need to be done to help the students learn?

Identify what help your instructional supervisors can

provide for you, so when you meet them, you can ask
them relevant questions. Indicate them.
