Critical reflection

Migration has had a massive impact on England. One of these impacts was urban change.

It is essential to highlight that in England, the likelihood of poverty is higher in the urban centers

than in rural areas (Vera-Toscano et al., 2023). This is mainly because many people coming into

the city leaves low chances for investment. However, the issue of migration has affected the

distribution of wealth in the sense that there has been a massive difference between members of

different social classes. Thus, there is a need to address the problem of poor housing and social

integration.

In Bangladesh, rural poverty can be attributed to internal migration from these rural

places to cities such as Dhaka and Chittagong (Hasan, 2019). Furthermore, environmental

problems like flooding and poor weather patterns have also caused internal migration. In return,

this rapid migration of people to urban centers has led to overcrowding and a shortage of

infrastructure and social amenities, which has continued to put at risk the lives of these

inhabitants. Therefore, there is a need for sustainable urban development, climate control as well

as the launching of poverty alleviation. The government should also introduce equal

development procedures.

India is the fastest growing country, and migration to the urban centers is mainly fanned

by economic chances and the search for a better life. It is worth noting that most of the rural

places suffer from a lack of social needs such as sanitation and water (Gomez et al., 2019).

Therefore, urbanization in India is both advantageous and disadvantageous. While people have

improved their lives in Indian urban centers, there is also the worrying problem of

overpopulation and overcrowding, making scarce the available social resources infrastructure,

which leads to pollution and social inequalities. Thus, this calls for sustainable urban planning

and investment in social resources. The government should also invest in developing rural areas.

In China, urbanization results from the instant growth of cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

Furthermore, the government has boosted economic development by promoting urbanization

which has encouraged more rural-urban migration as people move to seek better chances (Ye et

al., 2020). Consequently, this has denied people rights, such as ownership, which the government

should change. The government should also focus on improving the environment.
