Eligibility
To be eligible for admission to Joliet Junior College, you must be at least 17 years old at the time of application and will
be required to provide proof of completion of an American high school degree or its equivalent at the time of
enrollment. Students must also meet the admission criteria listed in the Application Checklist.

International Student Application
Proof of English proficiency. Scores that will be accepted are listed as follows. Students need only submit proof of one
of the following:
o TOEFL Score minimum: 60 iBT
o IELTS Score minimum: 6.0
o PTE Academic minimum: 44
o iTEP Academic Plus minimum: 3.7
*Students who are Citizens of English-speaking countries as identified by the United States government are exempt
from this requirement.*
Copy of Passport (valid for six or more months into the future at the time of application)
All official transcripts and academic credentials, including U.S. schools attended.
o To Prove U.S. High School equivalency: Students must provide official credentials in a sealed envelope from
their high school / secondary education institution along with an English translation. In addition, students will
need to submit a high school equivalency evaluation completed by a NACES service (National Association of
Credentials Evaluations Services), such as Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services
(WES).
o To transfer earned college credit to Joliet Junior College from a foreign college or university: JJC only accepts
“Course-by-Course” credential evaluations conducted by a NACES approved services such as Education
Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES).
o To transfer college credit earned at another U.S. college or university: Students must provide official
transcripts in a sealed envelope from the college or university attended.
o If any of the above degree types listed are still in progress at the time of application, students may submit
an unofficial transcript from the school or institution but will be required to submit official credentials upon
arrival at JJC prior to enrollment. Exception may be made for certain extenuating circumstances – please

By registering for classes with Joliet Junior College, I acknowledge and agree that: I am financially responsible
for all charges related to my registration and fees associated with my enrollment at Joliet Junior College. I
understand that if I decide not to attend the course(s) in which I am registering for, that it is my responsibility
to drop the course(s) by the refund date of the course(s) (found on my student schedule) to avoid any
financial liability to the college. I understand that past-due student accounts will result in college registration
and services being withheld in accordance with college regulations. Delinquent debts may be reported to a
credit bureau and referred to collection agencies and/or litigated. I agree to pay any and all costs associated
with collecting unpaid charges, including attorney fees and court costs. This agreement shall be construed in
accordance with Illinois law, without regard to choice of law principles, and any lawsuit to collect unpaid fees
may be brought in the appropriate court sitting in Will County, Illinois regardless of your domicile at the time
of bringing such suit.
Joliet Junior College is committed to assisting members of the JJC community in providing for their own safety
and security. The annual CLERY security compliance document along with the Fire Safety Report (FSR) and the
Missing Person Policy (MPP) for students residing in “on Campus” student housing is available at the JJC Police
Department website: http://www.jjc.edu/about-jjc/emergency-services/campus-police along with other safety
information. If you would like to receive the ASR, FSR or MPP in booklet form, you may stop by the Campus
Police Department located on Main Campus in G-1013 or call Campus Police at 815-280-2234. The website and
booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and
reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They
also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property
owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses. This
information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
In accordance with Public Act 099-0278, the Student Optional Disclosure of Private Mental Health Act, you (the
Student) can authorize the disclosure of certain Private Mental Health Information to a designated person over
the age of 18 who can make medical decisions for you. You must complete the disclosure of Private Mental
Health Information Form to access the form and get more information.

I hereby grant permission to Joliet Junior College to use my photograph on its web site or in any other
publication used for the College. I also acknowledge that the College can use this photo at any time. I hereby
waive all rights to receive compensation in connections with the taking of my photograph or videotaped image
by Joliet Junior College. If I do not want JJC to use video and photographs of myself, I will inform the
