INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Shielded Metal Arc Welding NCII: Weld carbon steel plates and pipes using SMAW
process. This module is under the cluster UC!-LO1: Weld carbon steel plate in flat position. This module
will also present safety, welding procedures and techniques relevant to welding

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this module, you should be able to identify and familiarize types of welds, types of joints,
welding positions, using of tools, applicable welding procedures.
