Hey y’all! Thank you so much for
downloading my product! I teach students with
special needs so using pictures and visuals are
crucial to learning success. Here are just a couple
of ideas on how you can use these vocabulary
cards with your students. I hope you enjoy them!

Preparation:
I print out 2-3 color copies (number of copies
depends on your students and their ability levels
and the ways you intend to use the vocabulary
cards) and then laminate them.
1st copy: Cut out the vocabulary word with
picture (to be used with Word Wall).

2nd and 3rd copy: Cut out each vocabulary

word and picture separately (to be used for
matching or assessment).
How I use them/Ideas for use:
First of all, I tried to include a broad range of
Christmas vocabulary words to meet everybody’s
needs (I am sure I will be updating this file in the
future), so it is not my intention to introduce students to
every single one of these words.

I use the 1st copy of words for our Vocabulary Wall .

The 2nd and 3rd copies I use for literacy center
activities and assessment.

Introduction:
I usually begin introduction of thematic words during
circle time or group work time. Most of the time I
include a story or a song to go along with the theme as
well.

Vocabulary centers/Other Ideas:

- Vocabulary – Picture Match
- File folder matching game
- Read/Write the Room
- I have/Who has?
- Memory

Pre/Post Assessment:
Depending on the student’s ability level, choose
whether to use the vocabulary strips with or without
the picture.
