Question When you were applying for your first engineering job, how did

you feel about the offered salary to you?

Participant 1 It was quite well for her part as she was only new to the

field. Expecting salary rate: 20k and above current salary

rate range: 18- 20k

Participant 2 He was not really happy with the offered salary but he

feels like he doesn't have the right to demand more since

he can't really provide any evidence to prove his

credentials.

Participant 3 He was sad because it was lower than he expected.

Even if he had a diploma and a college graduate, he's

still cannot find a job with good salary or salary that

match his expectation. But he just accepted this job

since he's just starting and he can gain experience from

this.

Question After receiving your salary, what is your perspective regarding

the amount of it? And with that, were you satisfied?

Participant 1 The offered salary wasn't bad for her part considering

that she was only starting from scratch. Gained tons of

experiences from OJTS and was satisfied enough, all in


all.

Participant 2 He's not satisfied even if he can't provide any proof of his

credentials, he knows he have shown it through his hard

work despite the excessive workload.

Expected salary: 30-40k current salary: 15-17k

Participant 3 He was not satisfied given the excessive workload given

to him.

Expected salary: 20-30k current salary: 14k

Question How does your income influence your work productivity?

Participant 1 It triggers well in her productivity which means her salary

affects it (productivity) in a not-so-good matter. It makes

her disappointed. It was affecting her personal life and

emotional and mental health aspect.

Additional question: Are you licensed?

- Planning on taking her board exam but hoping not in an

online set-up anymore.

Participant 2 In his field of work, the saying "magtrabaho ng naaayon

sa sweldo" is not applicable. So instead of dwelling with

the low salary, he just think that even it doesn't have a

big salary, it can still give him experience that he can use
to apply for a better position with a better salary.

Participant 3 His salary affects his productivity. He do lesser than his

average, and gets lazy because of the low salary. He

does believe with the saying, "magtrabaho ng naaayon

sa sweldo".
