OPENING:
Good morning everyone, thankyou for the oppourtunity given to us. Im Maria
Virginia Yopita Kolin as a first speaker, im Atthal Bihari as a second speaker, and im
Zaschya Casilda Wahon as a third speaker. We from the kontra team, will share
some opinions regarding the motions of students having to wear uniform to go to
school.

FIRST SPEAKERS
MOTION:
School uniforms are indeed important to show one’s identity as a student, but
school uniforms also couse serious confict. Actually the use of uniforms at school is
not very important, because our goal is to go to school to learn. Using uniforms is
actually dye to school regulations which require students to wear uniform
otherwise students can wear whatever clothes they want.
Some of it’s countries include the united states, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden,
finland, Poland, Ukraine. Most private schools do not wear school uniforms. There
are several reasons why school uniforms are not very important.
Some reasons are not important too because less costs for uniforms, there are
some parents who object to the relatively expensive price of uniforms. With the
economic conditions being quite difficult, plus the wages from their jobs being
mediocre, most parents admit that it is difficult to meet the financial requirements
set by the school. The chost set for these various uniforms are relatively expensive.
In determining the price of each item, there is no discussion or discussion between
the school and the student’s parents. The school should provide on option so that
the student’s parents can look for uniforms outside that are more affordable.
Parents hope that the government will step in to deal with this problem, how can it
be easier for these student’s, because it’s the parents who are worried. Not only is
it related to prices soaring high, the quality of uniform is not all of good quality.
This has also become a complaint from parents regarding the poor quality of
uniforms, such as materials that break down quickly or are less durable. Poor
quality can cause uniforms to quickly become damaged and need to be replaced
frequently. Apart from that, another polemic about the provision of uniforms in
schools is that uniforms that do not fit the child’s zize or have designs they don’t
like can also be a problem for parents. Especially those purchased from new schools
in the from of cloth. Parents of students still need to pay additional costs to sew
uniforms. In fact, many parents or guardians of students are aware that the price of
uniforms usually sold by schools cooperatives is more expensive than those on the
market. However, people are helpless against these high prices as if trapped by a
system that has been going on for a long time.
Next students argue that uniforms violate their freedom of expression, schools
may not make regulations or advise students to wear specific religious clothing
models as school uniforms. The government does not require specific religious
clothing models as a school uniforms. If schools force students to follow school
rules regarding uniforms, students will find it difficult to express themselves. If
schools force students too much, it is likely that students will be lazy about going to
school, because they will find it difficult to express him self through uniforms.
There is belief that schools uniforms teach students to respect the learning
environment and behave, thereby increasing discipline. However, this assumption is
not completely correct. Researches actually found that school uniforms do not
make students behave better.
Uniforms also do not affect our learning activities at school. Uniform is just an
appearance. Unifroms are also not what determines whether we are stupid or smart
at school, and are not what determine whether we become successful or not.
Uniform is just a complement or just symbolizes the identity of a school.

SECOND SPEAKERS
Wearing a uniform at schools is not that important. Let’s take the example of the
average Indonesian students wearing a t-shirt, in essence studying doesn’t matter
where they are or what the are wearing. In another case, let’s take an example in
lembata regency, the children of Negeri One Nubatukan High School like to make
fun of the students of Ile Lewotolok because they dress like village children. They
say the socks are like snakes, the scribbled clothes are clothes are like graffiti so
basically they feel sorry for the people who get bullied. The use of uniforms outside
of schools also reduces or even neutralizes the number of brawls in Indonesia. Let’s
take the example of brawls in java, taking the number of brawls from the year two
thousand twenty to the year two thousand twenty three to reach one thousand five
hundred and forty one cases. This incident occurred because of a problem from
several generations ago and was inherited. Maybe not wearing another school
uniform means we are also students. In the next case, the police and even police
branded the school as bad, perhaps because the students were naughty and liked to
play truant. For example, even a small child who just goes to do a photocopy can be
arrested by police because he is wearing a uniform outside of school.

THIRD SPEAKERS
In our opinion, wearing uniforms at school is not important. Because in our opinion
we go to school to study and uniforms do not affect our teaching and learning
activities. Some of the reasons are because uniforms violates students freedom of
expressions, since student uniforms come of one school, this can create problems
with students from other schools, parents think about these costs because parents
have to spen more money to buy their school uniform. Apart from that, there is
competition between schools. There is in opinion of students with uniform models
that are not commensurate with their body size so that competition influences
other student’s school uniforms. So in our opinion, the use of uniforms should not
be too much of a problem because school uniforms can have negative impact on the
school and ourselves.
