Part 1:

Before I started learning at LUK, my English skills were quite limited. I struggled to communicate my
thoughts and ideas effectively, and understanding English conversations or texts was a challenge. I often
felt unsure and lacked confidence when speaking or writing in English.

However, since joining LUK, my English has improved significantly. I can now express myself more
confidently and clearly. In addition to English, I have also developed 21st century skills through my
journey at LUK. Teamwork is one of the skills I have enhanced. I have learned how to work together with
my peers, listen to their ideas, and contribute my own thoughts to achieve common goals.

Critical thinking is another skill that has seen improvement. I have learned how to analyze information,
evaluate different perspectives, and make well-informed decisions. The growth mindset is something I
have embraced. I now believe that my abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. I
am more willing to take on challenges, learn from my mistakes, and strive for improvement.

Part 2:
First day at LUK: On my first day at LUK, I was shy and struggled to communicate in English. The
challenge was overcoming my fear of speaking and interacting with others. To practice, I started by
engaging in simple conversations with fellow students and gradually built my confidence. LUK helped me
learn professional language skills and phonics, which improved my ability to speak fluently and
pronounce words correctly.

Level 1: At Level 1, the challenge was to become more professional in my conversations. I practiced by
participating in group discussions and role-playing scenarios. LUK provided feedback and guidance to
help me improve my communication skills. Through consistent practice, I became more comfortable
expressing myself and engaging in meaningful conversations.

Level 2: In Level 2, the focus was on staying updated with world news and enhancing public speaking
skills. The challenge was to stay informed and effectively present my ideas. I practiced by reading news
articles, watching videos, and participating in class presentations. LUK encouraged me to express my
opinions and provided valuable feedback to refine my public speaking abilities.

Levels 3 & 4: In these levels, the challenge was to develop a growth mindset and engage in debates. I
practiced by researching various topics, preparing arguments, and actively participating in debates with
classmates. LUK taught me to embrace challenges, view failures as learning opportunities, and persevere
in the face of difficulties. This helped me improve my critical thinking, persuasive skills, and ability to
consider different perspectives.

Part 3
- Advice to new LUKers (K19): Embrace every challenge as an opportunity to grow. Don't be afraid to
make mistakes or ask questions. Practice regularly, both inside and outside the classroom. Engage with
your fellow LUKers and take advantage of the support and guidance from LUK coaches. Believe in
yourself and your ability to improve.
- Message to LUK coaches, TED team, and friends: Thank you for believing in me and supporting my
journey at LUK. Your dedication and guidance have transformed me into a more confident and skilled
individual. I am grateful for the opportunities you provided to learn and grow. Keep inspiring and
empowering learners to become global citizens.
