Project 1 Personal Evaluation

Project one went fairly well in my evaluation. It was both an easy and difficult execution, but

ultimately a fun and educational way for me to express myself and my comedy style. My

strengths have usually been in dramatic writing or acting, however, I found that this video came

very easy for me. The concept for my video was based on one of my loglines that I expanded

upon using celebrity impersonations, a rough script, and costume changes. The video was tik tok

meets SNL which is a beautiful way to describe my type of comedy. I love comedy that accounts

for small attention spans. Scripting is very useful for me when executing comedy and keeping

continuity, however, I would like to possibly challenge myself with the next project and see if I

can make the video without a script. The end result was much better than I expected it to be with

acceptable comedic timing with the exception of some small breaks in between cuts. I would

love to improve on my editing skills and make sure there are no breaks in between scenes. For

me, breaks in scenes for comedy have to mean something or else the audience's attention will

diminish. I am a victim of this phenomenon so I will try to be more wary of it when creating. To

expand upon this video and improve its overall quality, I would tighten up the Ariana Grande

impression and possibly throw in another joke or two from audience members. I feel that if I add

new concepts to this video it would take away from the plot line, therefore, I would leave the

characters the same and a majority of the script. This project, overall, was an opportunity to

prove myself comedically and has given me confidence in my ability to craft comedic dialogue.
