Introduction:-

Generally medium voltage applications for different kind of electrical loads such as motor drives for
traction load, EV and HEV's, the multilevel inverter are used in huge intensive.

As multilevel converter reduces the stress across the switch. With addition of levels, the output
waveform is good and contains lesser harmonics.

Power converter is the interface between the renewable energy source and the load .from that
Multilevel inverter (MLI) is becoming the best choice .For the concern of more protection and
heating problem the term multilevel introduced of three level structures. It involves utilization of
large number of semiconductor switches in cascaded manner for converting power into small
stepped voltage .There are several advantages which Includes Industrial drives, flexible AC
transmission system (FACTS), and vehicle propulsion

Basically their are three topologies -1.Cascaded H bridge.

2. Diode-clamped and

3.Flying capacitor,

the cascaded H-bridge structure include some unique features that includes the requirement of least
number of switches to produce same number of levels, easy control algotithm, has the modularity
structure.

Objective :-
1.To analyze the comparison between seven level three phase multilevel inverter configuration

2.Study of different PWM with the MATLAB or SIMULINK

Literature review :-
CHB inverter . The input AC voltage is rectified by diode bridge rectifier circuit and the rectified dc
voltage is fed to each inverter through a filter capacitor of 1000 μF, 450 V. The output power of
seven-level CHB inverter is 9 kW. The dc voltage sources of each H-bridge cells of the inverter
have maintained 20 V constant and the frequency of the output is set as 50 Hz. Statistical curves
have been provided to analyse the inverter performance and it confirms the
accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of the DSA evolutionary technique over the above-
mentioned algorithms for harmonic elimination problem.

It can be most useful where the inverter has to work at the low switching frequency and the
conversion efficiency is of paramount importance. Some potential application would be medium-
voltage high-power motor drives, traction drive for railway transportation electrification, active
rectifier circuits, and grid-based FACTS, HVDC system to name a few.
