COMPETITION GUIDE L INES

1. Masawa nga Pasko is a Light Up your Barangay Hall Competition open to all interested Barangays in
Butuan City.
2. All participating Barangays are free to interpret their entries provided lights for indoor/outdoor use
must be incorporated in the design;
3. The illumination of the Barangay Hall will consist of the following Christmas elements:
a. Lighting up of the barangay hall façade and interiors
b. An Outdoor Christmas Tree
c. An Outdoor Nativity Scene (Belen)
d. Parol/Parols
e. Concept Design interpret the theme”Christmas in Ascending City of Butuan”
f. Materials will be according to the descretion of the Designerand must show Artistry,
Durability and Sustainability
g. Visual Impact must be beautiful during the day and spetacularly lighted during night time

4. All entry forms must be submitted on or before _____________________ Registration is free and
could be submitted online through Link: _________________ or visit the City Tourism Office
Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The Paskong Kumikutitap will simultaneously be
lighted on _________________ at 7:00PM in time with the Kasawa Hong Butuan Switch On
ceremonies of the City Government of Butuan;

5. Judging of entries will be on ________________ until ______________________ in two phases:

daytime and nighttime;

6. The decision of the board of judges is final and cannot be revoked.

7. Criteria:

CONCEPT AND DESIGN 20%

This pertains to the originality of idea to generate the desired effect
of joy and celebratory brightness of the Christmas Season and how the
elements of the Christmas Tree,Parol and Belen integrated in the whole
design. This includes the choice of materials for outdoor decorations.
CRAFTSMANSHIP 20%
This refers to the skill and worksmanship as shown in the artistry,
neatness, durability and sustainability of work.
VISUAL IMPACT DURING THE DAY
20%
This refers to the aesthetic appearance of the concept design
during daytime
VISUAL IMPACT DURING THE NIGHT 20%
This refers to the aesthetic appearance of the concept design
during nighttime
CLEANLINESS AND SANITATION 20%
This refers to the maintenance of cleanliness and hygienic conditions
of the concept design.
