Management and Supervision in Counseling


(CPE5201)
Attendance Policy
Students with more than two unexcused absences cannot receive a grade higher than “B.”
Students with more than three absences will receive a failing grade for the course. In the
same vein, students are expected to be on time and should remain in class for the entire
session. Part of the process of becoming a professional counselor involves the commitment
to regular class attendance. As an aspiring professional counsellor, you have the
responsibility to attend the class in order to extend your professional growth and
development.

Participation and Professional Behavior


Students are expected participate in all class discussions and activities. In case of absence,
the student is responsible for obtaining class notes and arranging to make up work. The
student is expected to read text material before coming to class.

Assignment (70%)

Assignment 1: Presentation (20%)

You will do a presentation based on the topic given. The time duration for every presentation
is one hour.

Assignment 2: Written paper (20%)

Student needs to write a paper related to supervision. The minimum number of pages for
the paper is 10 pages (excluding cover page and references). The paper must comply with
APA format 7th edition and have at least 5 journal articles within 10 years as references.
Failure to comply with the APA format will cause in mark deduction.

Assignment 3: Recording sessions (20%)

Student will do two recording supervision sessions. Each session, student will do a reflection
paper based on the session and the supervision model they use.

Quiz and Participation (10%)

Lecturer will choose randomly the days that he wants to do quizzes. This to encourage
students to read the reading materials and pay attention to the lesson. Students are also
expected to participate in the the class discussion.

Final Exam (30%)
