Foreword
Control system ‘s helpful information for TS1101 moment limiter manufactured by
Fushun HaiChang Electronics Technology CO.,LTM. are available to crane operator,
which make crane can be monitored and controlled within allowable load range, test can
be done to complete different function with the help of different signal’s sensor in order
to provide real-time working data for crane operator.

TS1101 moment limiter can provide relevant lifting angle, height, working radius, rated
load, actual load and diesel engine’s revolution, oil temperature etc ( according to
customer’s requirement ) for operator

Important notices
Moment limiter is kind of safety auxiliary instrument, it will give a warning to operator
when crane is overloading to rebuild in damage and personal casualty, besides, there is
relevant action output signal to limit overload of crane.

Moment limiter gives a limit function to overload moment in the vertical plane of crane
boom and can’t defend tipping accident caused by wind load, gradient ground, so
operator never neglect crane’s relevant safety operating procedures with the help of
moment limiter

1. Summary

FTQ03 moment limiter is kind of safety protector that monitor lifting equipment, display is

integrated with control part, compact structure is convenient for installation. This moment limiter is

applicable to middle-small tonnage lifting equipment.

Main characteristic as follow: Large-size display screen with LCD lattice graph showing boom length,

angle, working radius, rated load, actual load and load rating etc, graph is easy and visual for more

convenient operation. It has a function of prompt message of malfunction to eliminate malfunction in

person according to the prompt message of main monitoring interface and malfunction and analysis,

chapter 7, in this manual, also it has function of black box recording overload data automatically for

malfunction analysis after the event to offer real and reliable original data. This series of moment

limiter can connect with PC for debugging and monitoring data, improving working efficiency.

4. Function instruction of operation

4.1 Instruction of main interface

Main interface can be divided into main boom, auxiliary boom and extended boom, besides,
CAN general line data need to be displayed or not, which is divided for data with engine and
data without engine, 6 interfaces in total, but here we just show three interface without

engine date. NOTICE: The following pictures are from TS1101 80t, the data in the
following pictures are for reference only.

Rate Load Actual Load

Load bar and load rate

When load rate is less than 90%,load bar is green, when load rate is from 90% to 100%,
load bar is yellow, at the same time, buzzer will ring discontinuously. When load rate is
more than 100%, load bar is red, at the same time, buzzer will often ring.
Key function

F1: Press this button for switchover between main hook and auxiliary hook when it is
situating in fixed jib or runner duty

F2: Enter duty selection interface, set corresponding duty parameter before use in order to
ensure system is normal
F3: Enter status temporary-control interface, when there is something wrong with system,
enter this interface to observe sensor’s sampling value and engine’s data.
F4: Enter parameter debugging interface, before entry, accurate code needs to be input, no
entry for non-professional personnel
F5: Mute: press this button to stop alarming when buzzer is ringing. Mute will be
automatically cancelled and continue ring for next time when load rate restores to 80%.
F6: Enter fault test interface when there is something wrong with system, analyze current
status intelligently and create diagnosis information table.
4.2 Instruction of duty selection interface

1. Press F1 to exit duty selection interface to enter main interface.


2. Press F2 to switch between “Job No.”, “Main hook falls”, “Main hook Wt.”, “Aux.Hook
falls” and “Aux.Hook weight” separately. When repairing Job No., press F4 or F5 while
pressing F3 to increase or reduce by 10 times, F4 current selection is increased, F5 current
selection is reduced.
3. After amending all selection, press F6 to save current setting data, update display of load

chart and display current duty’s status above the screen, see as follow:

Note:1. when amending job No. , it will show the information at the upside of main

interface.
2. Press F6 to save data after setting all parameter.

3. Hook weight,Falls can be switched based on several kinds of data from

manufacturer, no need to input.


4.3 Interface instruction of status monitor

This interface is for observing sensor and calculation data when there is something with
moment limiter.

★If users can’t solve the problem in person, this interface’s data need to be recorded for

service man’s reference to get rid of malfunction.

Input right password to enter system setting interface, default password is 123
F1: return to the main interface. F2: cancel current input’s password to become 0 0 0.

In the setting interface, select password option to input 123, then press F6 key to enter
demarcation main interface. Password is invalid after switching on last time, which needs to
re-input the password to enter into demarcation interface.
The function from F1 to F6 is as follows:
F1: Enter angle Label interface, angle debugging must be done under basic boom, and the
shorter boom the better.
F2: Enter weight Label interface. Usually we don’t need to debug again the weight after we
have done the weight calibration on basic boom. If the weight isn’t conform to the actual
load, we can do the weight calibration again at the present job NO.
F3: Enter corrected short hook. Note: we need to do the calibration of angle compensation
when every job NO. when it is used for the first time.
F4: Enter Other Label
F5: Enter the advanced system setup interface. Important Note: This button is only used by
professionals.

F2:Press it to move cursor up and down, between “set big angle radius value”,
“Tension AD, Angle AD”, “Set small angle value ”, “Angle-K and
Angle-B”.“small angle radius” and “big angle radius” is input option, press F4 to
setting value plus 1 after pressing F2 to move this option, press F5 adjust value to deduct 1,
press F4 while pressing F3 at the same time, setting value plus 10, press F5 while pressing
F3 at the same time, setting value deducts 10. Press F6 to save after actual amending value is
finished according to current actual test radius.

Note:when Label the angle, radius testing point is the distance from boom foot to center of
pulley block of main hook. “Small angle signal collection” and “big angle signal
collection” is for storage option of sampling value. Press F6 to save current sampling value
when boom radius is current radius that set. “k value,b value ” is to save current
demarcation coefficient in the system for the future adjustment and use, down side of screen
is current sensor’s sampling value and calculation value for user’s observation. Screen down
is demarcation information, which always shows current cursor line’s operating way.
Specific calibration operating ,as follows :
Select Job No. to make limiter parameter accord with actual one.
1. Adjust boom derricking to around 76 degree (this time angle is not accurate,
which adjust smallest radius according to load chart)
2. Measure vertical distance from joint to hook head under boom and input data in
the compiling frame of big angle radius
3. Press F2 to get cursor move down, observe data at the bottom of the screen and
press F6 to save current sensor numerical value after boom get steady.
4. Adjust boom derricking to around 35 degree(this time angle is not accurate,
which adjust biggest radius according to load chart)
5. Press F2 cursor to move down to smaller radius.
6. Measure vertical distance from joint to hook head under boom and input data in
the compiling frame of small angle radius
7. Press F2 to get cursor move down, observe data at the bottom of the screen and
press F6 to save current sensor numerical value after boom gets table.
8. Press F2 to move down and press F6 to save current demarcation numerical
value.
:Angle demarcation procedures must be done once, need to be re-demarcate if

4.5.2 Weight Label help information interface

2、Check the main hook weight and main hook fall is correct to actual situation or not.
3、Lift boom to around 74,select a weight which is thirty percent of the maximum load at
the present working condition. And then fill this weight in the blank “set big angle weight
(t)”
4、Press F2 to move cursor,observe sensor data at the bottom and press F6 to collect sensor
data after boom gets stable.
5、Press F2 to move down cursor, input small angle weight.(same to step 3)
6、Check load chart, boom derricking to current weight’s maximum radius.
7、Press F2 to move down cursor, observe sensor data at the bottom and press F6 to collect
current sensor data after boom get steady.

8、Press F2 go to “parameter save “and then press F6 to save the data,.


Now the calibration is completed.
“Weight Label”
Press F1 go to“ ”interface


Specific calibration operating ,as follows:
1、Select Job No. to make limiter parameter accord with actual one.
2、Check the main hook weight and main hook fall is correct to actual situation or not.
3、Lift boom to around 74,select a weight which is thirty percent of the maximum load at
the present working condition. And then fill this weight in the blank “set big angle weight
value”
4、Press F2 to move cursor,observe sensor data at the bottom and press F6 to collect sensor
data after boom gets stable.
5、Press F2 to move down cursor, input small angle weight.(same to step 3)
6、Check load chart, boom derricking to current weight’s maximum radius.
7、Press F2 to move down cursor, observe sensor data at the bottom and press F6 to collect
current sensor data after boom get steady.
8、Press F2 go to “parameter save “and then press F6 to save the data,.
Now the calibration is completed.

Specific calibration operating ,as follows:
1. Select Job No. To make limiter display parameter accord with actual parameter.
2. Check main hook weight and main hook falls are correct to actual situation or not.
3、Rise main(or main/aux.)hook to hook head limit.
4、Derricking the main boom to 74 degree, press F2 go to “big angle corrected shot hook”
5、Observe screen data at the right of the screen and press F6 to acquire data after boom get
steady.
6. Derricking the main boom to the maximum radius at this current work condition.
7、Press F2 going to “Small angle corrected shot hook”
8、Observe data at the right of screen and press F6 to acquire data after boom is steady.
9、Press F2 going to “K,B” and press F6 to save the data, the “Angle corrected shot
hook ”is completed.

Note:Need to be finished just for one time and can’t disconnected during small angle
compensation, big angle compensation and storage etc three operation procedures.

Specific calibration operating ,as follows:
1. Select Job No. To make limiter display parameter accord with actual parameter.
2. Let crane engine shut down, throw the servo pressure power screw up and down.
3. Observe screen data at the right of the screen and press F6 to acquire data after “servo
AD” get steady.
4. Press F2 goes to “Lower servo pres”, set the value 0.
5. Press F2 let the cursor stop at “Lower servo pres AD”, and then press F6 to get the
sensor signal.
6. Started the crane, and open servo pressure power.
7. Press F2 let the cursor go to “upper servo pres” and set the values 0. Then press F2
goes to “upper servo pres AD”, Press F6 to get the sensor single. Press F1 return to the
main interface.

1. Select Job No. To make limiter display parameter accord with actual parameter.
2. Press F2,let the cursor stop at“Upper oil setup” and press F4 or F5 set values to 100.
3. Take out the Fuel level sensor, slide up annular float to the top. Press F2,let the cursor
stop at“Upper oil AD collection”, Observe screen data at the right of the screen and press
F6 to acquire data after “Oil AD” get steady.
4. Press F2,let the cursor stop at“Lower oil setup” and press F4 or F5 set values to 0.
5. Slide down annular float to the bottom, Press F2,let the cursor stop at“Lower oil AD
collection ” , Observe screen data at the bottom of the screen and press F6 to
acquire data after “Oil AD” get steady.
6. Press F1 return to the main interface.

7.Moment Limiter wiring diagram

1. Ten-core plug: Connect to screen.


2. Seven-core cable including:
Red wires:24V+ Pink wires:red light
Black wires:24V- Yellow wires:yellow light
Blue wires:Overloads Control Green wires:Green light
Brown:Boom upper limited control
3.Tension sensor wires:Five core plug connect with tension sensor。
4.Angle sensor or wires :Four core plug connect with angle sensor.
5.Safety wire: Protect the main board.
