Crux

The Southern Cross, or Crux, is a well-known constellation in the southern sky. The
smallest of the 88 constellations, it is. Crux is one of the most well-known constellations
in the southern hemisphere despite its small size. The Southern Cross, an asterism
formed by its five brightest stars, makes it simple to identify. The constellation is linked
to a variety of tales and is a central figure in numerous southern hemisphere myths.
Because of its circumpolar location and year-round visibility, it is of particular
significance in Australia and New Zealand. Crux never sets below the horizon since it is
circumpolar south of 34°S and is not visible north of +20° in the northern hemisphere.
Crux is direct across from Cassiopeia on the celestial sphere.
