Investing in a truck tire that contains embedded sensors presents a number of possible
advantages for a transportation company. The use of such a tire would make it possible for the
organization to continually monitor the state of its tires, which, in turn, would assist to assure
the safety of both its drivers and its vehicles.

In addition, the corporation may be able to cut its expenditures associated with maintenance
and repairs, as well as improve its overall fleet management, with the assistance of this
investment. Despite the fact that it is difficult to determine with absolute certainty whether or
not investing in a truck tire that contains embedded sensors will create a long-term competitive
advantage for a transportation company, it is absolutely likely that it could.

Any advantage that a business can get in a sector where security and productivity are of the

Answer:

(A) At each site, describe what information is available to customers before and after
they send a package?

The UPS website has a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate. The website is well-
organized and provides a clear overview of the services offered by UPS. The website also
provides a tracking feature that allows users to track their packages in real-time. Additionally,
UPS offers a mobile app that is available for both iOS and Android devices .

The FedEx website has a clean and modern interface that is easy to use. The website provides
a clear overview of the services offered by FedEx and allows users to track their packages in
real-time. FedEx also offers a mobile app that is available for both iOS and Android devices .
The DHL website has a simple and straightforward interface that is easy to navigate. The
website provides a clear overview of the services offered by DHL and allows users to track
their packages in real-time. DHL also offers a mobile app that is available for both iOS and
Android devices .

Overall, all three websites have user-friendly interfaces that are easy to navigate. They provide
clear overviews of the services offered by each company and allow users to track their packages
in real-time. Additionally, all three companies offer mobile apps that are available for both iOS
and Android devices.

(B) Compare the three customer experiences. Which one do you prefer? Why?

In choosing a shipping company for our shipments, I'd consider customer experiences as a top
priority. Among UPS, FedEx, and DHL, customer feedback often varies. Let's look at each:

1.UPS (ups.com):

• Pros: UPS is known for its extensive network and reliability. They offer a range of services
and have a strong tracking system.

•Cons: Some customers report occasional delays, and the pricing might be on the higher side.

2.FedEx (fedex.com):

•Pros: FedEx is praised for its quick delivery and global reach. They also provide various
shipping options to cater to different needs.

•Cons: Like any service, FedEx isn't flawless; there are occasional reports of packages getting
delayed.

3.DHL (dhl.com):

•Pros: DHL is often chosen for international shipments. They are known for their efficiency
and real-time tracking.
•Cons: Pricing might be a concern for some, and in certain regions, the coverage might not be
as extensive as other providers.

To make a decision, I'd review recent customer reviews specific to our shipping
destinations. I'd also consider the nature of our shipments—are they time-sensitive,
international, or domestic? The aim is to choose a reliable partner that aligns with our business
needs and provides consistent positive experiences for our customers.

Question:3 Visit Dell.com and Apple.com to simulate buying a laptop

computer.

Compare and contrast:

(A) The Selection process, Degree of Customization and Other Buying Features.

(B) What are the Barriers to Entry into this Market, based on what you learned from this
exercise?

Answer:

(A) Using the filters on the left, you can narrow down your search for a new Dell laptop based
on a variety of factors, including price, display size, CPU type, operating system, and more.
When you specify the features, you're looking for in a portable computer, a list of options that
fit your needs will appear.

APPLE: You may refine your search by using the filters on the left side of the page. You'll be
able to choose whether or not the laptop has a touch bar.

DELL: With Dell, you can narrow down the notebook options based on your specific
requirements. Dell laptops don't have many options for customization. Several components,
such as the central processing unit, random access memory, hard drive, and operating system,
are up for modification. On top of that, a plethora of pre-built apps are offered. However, Apple
machines are not modifiable. A choice must be made from the possibilities presented.

Dell also offers a number of leasing and financing plans to choose from. It's a plus if your
laptop comes with a longer warranty. Apple offers a variety of non-conventional loan options
for college students who are looking for an alternative to federal student aid. The apple caret
programme adds an extra year to your apple product’s original warranty.

(B) High research and development expenditures and economies of scale are the most
significant obstacles to newcomers in the laptop market. The high cost of research and
development is proportional to the high cost of creating an entirely new generation of
computers. When it comes to computers, economies of scale mean that making a small batch
of computers is more expensive per unit than making a large batch of computers. That makes
it difficult for smaller companies to compete with market leaders like Apple and Dell.

The high cost of computers is the main obstacle to newcomers entering the industry. Because
of financing possibilities, purchasing a laptop from Dell or Apple may not be as much of a
financial strain for certain people. However, the cost of a laptop might be exorbitant, especially
for first-time buyers. To succeed in the laptop sector, you need to have a specific level of
technological knowledge. A non-technical individual may find it difficult to utilise a modern
laptop because of its complexity.

The necessity of a well-known brand is a further barrier to entry for new laptop manufacturers.
To feel confident in a laptop purchase, shoppers need to be well-versed in and confident in the
names of their preferred manufacturers. They need to put money into advertising and marketing
if they want to increase their brand recognition.

Question:5

Understanding the Information System:

The Library as an Information System; A library makes an excellent information systems

model. It serves as a very large information storage facility with text, audio, and video
data archives. Look up the definitions for each term listed below and briefly explain a
library’s equivalents.

a. Input

b. Processing

c. Output

d. Storage

e. Control

f. Feedback
Answer:

INFORMATION SYSTEM:

An information system is a tool that helps analyse the data. the purpose of an information
system is to convert data into valuable information that can help organization with their
decision making. Also, using information system help make things convenient because of how
it turns tedious things into the simplest things possible.

INPUT:

Input is information that is put into a computer. Because libraries house hundreds of thousands
of journals, books, and magazine, libraries had to take advantage of computerization in its early
stages. millions of pieces of data were input into databases making searching for books,
journals, magazines, etc. easier and timelier.

A library’s inputs are composed of items such as books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, DVDs,
and all other items that contain information where added knowledge can be obtained by the
user.

PROCESSING:

Processing Is a running software or other computing Operation.

Libraries must process every book received from their vendors prior to circulation throughout
the library system. This involves a software that librarians physically process the books through
so the material can be tracked and located. This a very time-consuming action, but very
necessary. Because of this, some larger libraries set up centralised processing units to handle
the acquisitions, cataloguing, and preparation of materials for different libraries.

OUTPUT:

Output is the act of production or manufacture. With regards to computer systems in libraries,
this means anything that is generated through a query from a user.
A library's output would be the knowledge or information that comes out of the library. It may
be the handwritten notes based on the knowledge obtained, photocopies of book pages, or
borrowed books. The library user uses the output when he or she recites it to others and informs
them about the content. They may also lend output items other non-library members.

STORAGE:

A library's storage is where they place the inputs so it is the shelves, racks, cabinets, and hard
drives.

Storage is the process of storing information in a computer systems memory or storing physical
inventory. A library system uses both computer storage and physical storage to house their
massive inventory of information. This involves automated materials handling systems and
automated library systems, to name a few.

CONTROL:

A library's control is how the inputs are managed so it may be through inventory checks,
monitoring the users, and security cameras to ensure the safety and security of the inputs.
Control can be considered as the building blocks of computer programs. They are commands
that enable a program to “take decision” following one path or another.

FEEDBACK

Feedback is an event that occurs when the output of a system is used as input back into the
system as part of a chain of cause and effect.

A library's feedback is a way of making the library better, so it can be through the use of
statistics on the books usually borrowed or what may be the most used item, or it may be
through membership statistics where they also try to get the reason why people get the
memberships in the first place. Feedback is also received from the comments of the members
themselves. The feedback system should also have a goal in improving how a library can
function more effectively and efficiently.
