CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGROUND
English is one of the compulsory subjects at Vocational School No. 1 Muara Enim. In this
semester, one of the materials is report writing. Before writing a report, students must
conduct research. Therefore, the author of this report with the title "REPORT ON THE
MOST FAVORITE ART OF STUDENTS AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
NO.1 MUARA ENIM"

B. OBJECTIVES
 To find out what kind of art students of Vocational school No. 1 Muara Enim
like the most.
 As one of the requirements to get an English grade on report writing material.

DISCUSSION

A. LITERATUR REVIEW
1. PAINTING ART

Painting is one of the branches of fine art created from the imagination of
artists expressed through the media of line, color, texture, light darkness,
field and shape. Painting is a form of human expression that is poured on
canvas or other 2 dimensional fields.

2. DANCE ARTS

The definition of dance is rhythmic body movements performed in a

certain place and time for the purposes of association, expressing feelings,
intentions, and thoughts. The sounds referred to as dance accompaniment
music regulate the dancer's movements and reinforce the meaning to be
conveyed.

 3. UKIR ARTS

Carving is the art of forming images on wood, shell, bamboo, stone, metal and
other materials. The result is a beautiful image or decoration, with parts that are
concave and convex or hollow (translucent).

4. CHOREOGRAPHY ARTS

Choreography is the art of composing or creating and changing dance movements

until finally it becomes a complete dance and can be enjoyed by all audiences.

5. CRAFTS ARTS

Craft art is also often called handicraft products. Referring to its definition, a work
of craft art has practical benefits in everyday life. This is in accordance with the
functions of craft art, namely as decoration, as an object of use, and as a toy.

6. MUSIC ART

Music (Jamalus) is a work of art in the form of sound that is poured in the form of
a song or composition as an expression of the feelings and thoughts of the creator
through the main elements of music, namely melody, rhythm, harmony, and song
form or structure and expression as a source of unity.

7. BATIK ART

Batik is a technique of drawing on cloth and utilizing wax and canting as materials
and tools to make it. An example of a banten batik motif that means title is Batik
kapurban.

8. PHOTOGRAPHIC ART

Photography is an art of painting with light, so the light factor is the most
important element in the art of photography. The principle of photography is to
focus light with the help of refraction so as to burn the light capture medium.

9. LITERARY ARTS

Literary art is something in the form of writing or stories that have artistic and
cultural values with good speech to convey certain meanings.

10. GRAPHIC ART

Graphic arts are works of art that have a two-dimensional form and are made with
manual or digital printing techniques. This is mentioned from Kemendikbudristek
Learning Resources. Graphic comes from the Greek "Graphein" which means
writing or drawing.

B. METHODOLOGY
This research was conducted at Vocational School No. 1 Muara Enim from
August 28 to September 19, 2023, namely in grades 10, 11, and 12. The
research subjects were 30 students consisting of 5 men and 25
women aged between 14-17 years. The method of data collection is done
by distributing questionnaires that have been filled in and collected and
then analyzed.

FINDINGS
After conducting the research, the following data was obtained :
1.The number of students who like PAINTING ART is 5 people (17%)
2. The number of students who like DANCE ARTS is 5 people ( 17%)
3. The number of students who like UKIR ARTS is 1 people ( 3%)
4. The number of students who like CHOREOGRAPHY ARTS is 1 people
( 3%)
5. The number of students who like CRAFTS ARTS is 1 people ( 3%)
6. The number of students who like MUSIC ART is 12 people (40%)
7. The number of students who like BATIK ART is 2 people ( 7%)
8. The number of students who like PHOTOGRAPHIC ART is 1 people
( 3%)
9. The number of students who like LITERARY ARTS is 1 people ( 3%)
10. The number of students who like GRAPHIC ART is 1 people ( 3%)

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

A. CONCLUSION
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the art that is most liked by
students of Vocational School No.1 muara enim is the art of music, namely 12 people
(40%) they like music because the art of music is an interesting thing.

B. RECOMMANDATION
1. Choose the art that suits your taste
2. The art of speaking where words cannot describe.
3. At the heart of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.
4. Loving is an art. It is an art to treat the person we love, with the best of
intentions, with the utmost respect. So how we love, will show how far
and how high the quality of our humanity is.
5. Life is beautiful, if we are always grateful. Sit back and see how beautiful
God's art is.
