employment and housing growth in recent years. They have published a vision-led strategy for
2040, based around a series of key policy objectives. It is, in reality a bit of a mix of vision and
objective-led planning.

1) Evaluate the vision statement - what do you think is good about it? what is missing?
2) Identify the policy objectives which underpin the vision? what do you like about how they are
described? what is missing as a high-level goal?
3) On Page 13 the plan refers to different spatial scales - why might this be important?
