Lateness
Provide your definition of on time and late and identify the consequences for being late.
My definition of being on time is arriving either before the bell or right as the bell
rings.
My definition of being late is coming in after the bell rings. I will not punish a child
for being late as it is not their fault for being late, especially in grades Pre-k-8. It will
be documented when a student is late.
Parents may need to be contacted if a problem is suspected.
Activities
Outline the activities that students will be engaging in during a typical week. These can include
reading groups, learning centers, etc. You can generalize here.
Reading centers everyday
Math centers at least twice a week
Go noodles for brain break
I Ready and Starfall at least twice a week
Art activities to reinforce lessons
Jack Hartman songs to reinforce lessons
Kid writing everyday
Assignments
Identify how you will assign work and how students will know what they are to do each day.
Also define how they should keep track of what they need to do for homework and long range
assignments.
The homework will be on the board each day for them to copy after lunch and will be on
google classroom.
Students will have a homework book where they will write the homework for each day
On-going assignment due dates will be written on the homework board each day
Turning in Assignments
Identify where and how students turn in class work & homework. Specify if students are the
check off completed work.
Students will turn in homework in the designated subject folder.
Students will put any assignments done during the day that I want collected in the turn in
bin
Returning Assignments to Students
Detail your policies on how you will return completed work to your students.
Completed work will be either graded or have a star on it
o Any needed correction will either result in points being deducted if graded or just
corrected on the assignment.
Every Friday all work collected will be given back to students
I will have written on the board next to the homework what they need to bring home.
I will also read the list and tell them to check they have everything on their desk.
I will tell them what worksheets they can put in their take home folder to bring home.
I will then dismiss their numbers like “1-5 go get your things.”
After they get their things, they will pack what is on their desk
After they are done packing they will sit in their seats till their line is called (bus, car
riders, walkers, after care)
Classroom Set Up
At the end of your plan, provide a design of your “dream” classroom. Be sure to label each area
of the room Use the Draw feature of Word to do so or draw your own and scan it into your
document.
