This document provides an overview of how biomimicry in medicine could help prevent surgical site infections. It begins with defining biomimicry as observing nature to solve human problems. The issue discussed is that 1 in 20 surgical patients develop infections. The document proposes using beeswax coated gloves, masks and tools in surgery based on beeswax's natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties. This could provide an extra protective layer and help fight infections in the operating room in a natural and environmentally friendly way. Recap slides emphasize the risk of infection and how beeswax could help address it as a natural material without synthetic risks.
