The following violence that we have found in our social media

Two people were shot and died on

November 15, 2023, while riding a Victory
Liner bus from Cauayan, Isabela, to Manila.
They were shot many times at close range
by two attackers as they were sitting at the
front of the bus. After compelling the bus
driver to halt, the suspects left the area.
The shooting event is a senseless, violent
act that is inappropriate for our culture. The
victims were defenseless individuals who
were merely attempting to get from one
location to another. Taking public buses
shouldn't have to make them worry about
their lives.
It serves as a reminder of how common gun
violence is in the Philippines. Gun-related
crimes continue to be a significant issue in
the nation despite several efforts to curb gun violence, such as the passage of a gun
control law. The authorities must conduct a comprehensive analysis to identify the
attackers' identities and guts. Putting in place additional security measures, such as
surveillance cameras and police officers on buses, may also aid in preventing and
handling similar situations. Improved cooperation between law enforcement and
transportation firms, as well as public awareness campaigns encouraging the reporting
of apprehensive activity, are also vital. This occurrence can be avoided by enhancing
community policing and boosting a shared sense of responsibility for safety.
To handle and reduce the likelihood of such accidents in the future, a thorough strategy
underlying both preventative actions and quick response tactics is essential. Together,
we can build a more secure and pleasant society for all Filipinos.

People are the highest form of creation, and we

are blessed to have the freedom to speak,
decide, and protect ourselves. But is that a
privilege and a reason to take advantage of the
voiceless?
A post from a page on Furr Station caught our
attention: a dog was unmercifully abused by
people in a barangay. The dog accidentally went
missing, and the owner tried to search for him.
Yet on that day, rumors spread that the dog was
accidentally hit by a motorcycle, and it was
brought to the barangay so that the owner could
claim their dog there. Unfortunately, when the
owner arrived and looked for her pet, the animal
was obviously abused, and some were preparing
to make the poor dog a meal. It happened in the
barangay hall, which was supposedly aware of
their offense, responsibility, and what was right in
the first place. It was a double sadness for the owner to see your loved dog in a
helpless cruelty situation.
Even though laws are implemented to protect these animals, there are still heartless
humans who are hurting these innocent creatures and using their weaknesses to take
advantage of them. However, we can report these cases to our local animal control, law
enforcement, or humane organization for an investigation and to help the animals. We
can end this animal abuse if only people will understand that animals too have lives,
and they don't ask much; they only want love and care. If we couldn't give that, at least
don't hurt them.
Animals are voiceless; if only they could scream, that would be a loud scream asking for
help. We should serve as the voice for the voiceless. Stop animal cruelty.

In one of the interviews with Miss Tony

Gonzaga, Miss Payang admits that she has
been verbally abused by her own mother,
naming her Lucy Pearl. She is in tears, sharing
that her mother once said that her name suits
her because she is a devil, so she is named after
Lucifer.
Those words are like knives stabbed in her
chest, knowing that the person who should love
and accept you in the first place turns out to be
the opposite, throwing hurtful words towards her.
It is indeed verbal abuse. Apart from that, she
also shared the physical violence she had been
through in her childhood.
Talking about verbal and physical abuse, the
best solution we can think of to stop this violence
is to raise awareness that it indeed causes
trauma and shouldn't be normalized, and
perhaps give the victim support either mentally
or emotionally in order to recover from the
damage this violence may have caused them.
