COURSE SYLLABUS

(Arnis and Disarming Technique)


Second Semester, AY 2022-2023

Quality Policy:

We, at Southern Leyte State University, commit enthusiastically to satisfy our stakeholders’
needs and expectations by adhering to good governance, relevance and innovations of our instruction, research
and development, extension and other support services and to continually improve the effectiveness of our
Quality Management System in compliance to ethical standards and applicable statutory, regulatory, industry
and stakeholders’ requirements.

The management commits to establish, maintain and monitor our quality management system
and ensure that adequate resources are available.

At the end of this program, the students are expected to:


a)Engage in lifelong learning and understanding of the need to keep abreast of the developments
in the specific field of practice.

e)Appreciate the “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”.

B. Specific to BS Criminology
a. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims and offenders to include
deviant behavior;
b. Internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare;
c. Demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement, public safety and criminal
justice;
d. Utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
e. Apply principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and procedure;
f. Ensure offenders’ welfare and development for their re-integration to the community

a. Effective and humane protector of peace guided by the principles of justice, moral and integrity.

SLSU graduates from BS Criminology Program have developed the ability to create innovative technologies,
strategies and policies in relation to crime detection, crime prevention and crime scene investigation gearing to

and order as well as public safety.

COURSE NAME Arnis and Disarming Technique
: This is a course that deals with the basic principles of movement applied in Arnis. The
subject will concentrate on the students as they understand the basic mechanics dealing
