SECTION 1 – Electrical Principles and Measurements

PROJECT DESIGN

You are required to DESIGN and BUILD an electrical circuit to investigate Ohm’s Law.

You must include the following in your design: constant dc source, voltmeter, ammeter, variable
resistor, fixed resistor, switch and circuit board

(a) In building your circuit, you must demonstrate the following:

(1) Health and safety practices

(2) Correct use of tools/materials/measuring instruments

(3) Correct termination procedures

(4) Adherence to schematic diagram

(5) The use of at least TWO types of tests to confirm that the circuit is safe to use and
also that it is functional BEFORE actually powering-up

(b) Write up a report on the activity conducted to include

(1) A re-statement of the Project Design

(2) Schematic diagram

(3) Procedures for setting up and testing

(4) Observations

(5) Conclusions
