Time Off Policy
The Objective
1. These guidelines aim to explain the implementation of rules governing the permission to leave
the workstation during working hours to employees at Schwing System Sdn Bhd, as provided under
Section 7 of the Employee Handbook.
Interpretation
2. For the purposes of these guidelines unless the context requires otherwise:
a. "Permission to leave the workstation" means the permission given by the supervisory
officer to an employee to leave his duties during working hours;
b. "Working hours" means the working hours set for an employee in accordance with the
regulations in force and as stipulated in the individual letter of offer of Employment; and
c. "Supervisory officer" means an officer who is responsible for his subordinates. Supervisors
must have a "superior-subordinate relationship" in office settings where the subordinate
refers to all matters pertaining to permission from the superiors.
Guidelines for the Implementation of Permission to Leave the Office During Working Hours
3. The implementation of permission to leave the workstation during working hours is as follows:
b) Permission to leave the workstation can be given for the purpose of attending personal
matters or medical appointments that have to be done during working hours. However,
employees must give priority to their duties and responsibilities if the appointment can be
completed outside of working hours;
c) The supervisory officer must use his discretion to give permission to employees to leave
the office during working hours to attend their personal matters or medical appointments
after taking the importance of the service into account;
d) The maximum period allowed for the purpose of leaving the workstation during working
hours shall not exceed four (4) hours ONCE per month (not including breaks). If the period
of leaving the office exceeds the maximum period, the employee is required to take
Annual Leave or other qualified leave. An employee may take half-day off in the morning
or afternoon, as follows:

e) Employees are required to report to work before or after their medical visit and produce a
supporting document, such as a certified attendance note issued by the doctor, to confirm
that the employee received treatment at the relevant clinic or hospital during that period.
f) The period the employee is allowed to leave the office will be considered Sick Leave if
the employee is certified as unwell to carry out his duties by the medical officer or doctor
treating him through a sick certificate issued; and
g) The supervisory officer must ensure that the facilities provided are not misused by
employees, especially in terms of frequency of use.
h) All leaves and time off requests must be submitted on the standard leave or time off
application form.

1. Garis panduan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pelaksanaan kebenaran untuk meninggalkan
pejabat dalam waktu bekerja kepada pekerja di Schwing System Sdn Bhd sepertimana yang
diperuntukkan di bawah Seksyen 7.
Tafsiran
2. Bagi tujuan garis panduan ini melainkan jika konteksnya menghendaki makna yang lain:
a. “Kebenaran untuk meninggalkan pejabat” bermakna kebenaran yang diberi oleh Pegawai
Penyelia kepada seseorang pekerja untuk meninggalkan tugasnya dalam tempoh waktu
bekerja;
b. “Waktu bekerja” bermakna masa bekerja yang ditetapkan kepada seseorang pekerja
mengikut peraturan yang berkuat kuasa; dan

3. Pelaksanaan kebenaran untuk meninggalkan pejabat dalam waktu bekerja adalah seperti berikut:
b. Kebenaran untuk meninggalkan pejabat ini boleh diberi bagi tujuan menghadiri temujanji
klinik/hospital yang terpaksa dilakukan dalam waktu bekerja. Pekerja hendaklah memberi
keutamaan kepada tugas dan tanggungjawabnya sekiranya urusan temujanji tersebut
boleh diselesaikan di luar waktu bekerja;
d. Tempoh maksimum yang dibenarkan untuk tujuan meninggalkan pejabat dalam waktu
bekerja hendaklah tidak melebihi 2 jam sehari (tidak termasuk waktu rehat). Jika tempoh
meninggalkan pejabat melebihi daripada tempoh maksimum yang ditetapkan pada hari
tersebut, pekerja dikehendaki mengambil Cuti Tahunan atau cuti lain yang berkelayakan;

f. Tempoh pekerja dibenarkan meninggalkan pejabat akan dianggap sebagai Cuti Sakit jika
pekerja disahkan sebagai tidak sihat untuk menjalankan tugasnya oleh pegawai perubatan
atau doktor yang merawatnya melalui sijil sakit yang dikeluarkan; dan
4. Peraturan ini adalah berkuatkuasa mulai tarikh garis panduan ini dikeluarkan.
