THE QUEEN ISABEL II.

Elizabeth Windsor had to live as Princess of Wales and,

therefore, heir to the throne
World War II, working in the Auxiliary Territorial Service,
the women's branch, at that time, of the British Army;
the Cold War; the fall of communism (1989)
and the Soviet Union (1991);
the appearance of global terrorism (The fall of the Twin Towers in New York on
September 11, 2001);
Brexit (June 23, 2016);
the Covid-19 pandemic,
and the Russian invasion of Ukraine (February 24, 2022).
She, in addition to being Queen of Great Britain, was Queen of fifteen countries and
Head of State of the Commonwealth of Nations, which now has 54 sovereign states.
That was precisely one of his biggest challenges, that is, for the United Kingdom to go
from being an empire to becoming a Commonwealth of Nations.
In her 70-year reign, Elizabeth II traveled the world. Her first trip as queen was,
curiously, to a Latin American country, Panama. It was the first of only four trips to
Latin America in his entire long reign.

On November 20, 1947, she married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, who was
granted the title of Duke of Edinburgh by King George VI, while still Crown Princess,
Elizabeth had Prince Charles and Princess Anne before her father passed away on
February 6, 1952, and she will go on to become Queen Elizabeth II.
A few years later, two more children, Andrew and Edward, were born, while
Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh maintained a busy work schedule and the
Windsors enjoyed great popularity.

On April 9, 2021, Queen Elizabeth II suffered the death of her husband, the Duke of
Edinburgh, when he was about to turn 100 years old in June of that year.

In the last year, the sovereign's health deteriorated, which forced her to suspend
several official commitments and to receive, on the 6th, the new leader of the
Conservative Party, Liz Truss, at Balmoral Castle to ask her to form new
government.
