LEARNING RECOVERY PLAN

SY 2022-2025
I. RATIONALE:

The challenge of pandemic in education is entirely inexorable. The United Nations in coordination with UNICEF and WHO, disclosed the
amount of disruption it caused in schools worldwide - in the elementary, secondary and even in higher education. The education department of the
country have done all its means to capture issues that need to cover and learning losses that have immensely affected the teachers, the pedagogy,
the household, the parents, the community, and most of all, the learners.

As face-to-face classes resume, it gives us a bigger portrait of the learning losses which need to focus on as academic performance of learners
especially in literacy and numeracy at home does not reflect on their classroom performance; those learners with desirable grades in English and
Mathematics perform least from what is expected to them.

Burirao Proper Elementary School understands this situation, its teaching personnel and school administration purportedly crafting
interventions to address learning losses and at the same time, works with community people to carry out activities involved into a reality. Hence, all
these measures are backed up by the following data transcribed in this three-year School Learning Recovery Plan.

II. SITUATIONER:

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound effect on our education system. Schools are closing across the country, learning is being moved
online or done through modular and digital approach otherwise a Radio-based Instruction is implemented to some, thus, educators are scrambling to
adapt the curriculum and learn new strategies for teaching students from a distance. We are living amidst what is potentially one of the greatest
threats in our lifetime to global education, a gigantic educational crisis. (Read the slide study of TRIA 2020). However, the Department of Education
stood on their ground in pushing for the rejection of the so-called “academic freeze”. This position makes way for what is called now as “new
normal” in education.

To continue to sustain the delivery of quality instruction to every learner, the Department of Education (DepEd) is addressing the challenges in
the basic education for the school year 2020-2021 through its Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) under DepEd Order No. 012, s.
2020 The BE-LCP is consistent with the mandate of Section 1, Article XIV of the 1987 Constitution for the state to protect and promote the
right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and to take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all.

Modular Distance Learning has been one of the most chosen modalities in public schools all over the Philippines. It is stated that the most
popular type of Distance Learning in the Philippines is modular. This learning modality is currently used by all public schools based on the survey
conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd). Learning through printed and digital modules emerged as the most preferred distance learning
method of parents with children who are enrolled this academic year.

This is also in consideration of the learners in rural areas where internet is not accessible for online learning. In this case, teachers take part in
monitoring the progress of the students while learning from home, it is also where their best support is badly needed to address the learning needs
and even lags of the students if parents or guardians cannot guide well their children.

During the first year of pandemic the Department of education make an effort to think different modality to address and continue the basic
education. Last School Year 2020-2021 Burirao Proper Elementary School used the Distance Learning Modality and the second year of pandemic for
School Year 2021-2022 the school used blended learning: Radio Based-Instruction and Modular Learning.

Since, our Department of Education is continuing to address the learning gaps and recover due to pandemic, this school year, we implemented
the full face to face classes in kindergarten to Grade 2 and blended learning in Grades 3 to 6.
