Job Title : Chief Financial Officer

Reports to : Chief Executive Officer


Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Description

Believe Fitness is rapidly expanding, and we need a leader to head our financial team
and build the systems that will support our continued growth. The Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) at Believe Fitness is a senior executive responsible for managing the
financial resources of a company. This role encompasses oversight of all financial facets,
including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. As a key member
of our senior management team, you will excel in a leadership role that demands clear
and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Key Strategy Input


○ Contribute to strategy and company development as a member of the senior
leadership team
○ Grow with the brand as it crosses borders and regions
○ Shape the company alongside three other key leaders to best position it to serve
its staff, customers, and markets

2. Budgeting & Cost Control


○ Lead the budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to
develop budgets and identify areas for cost control and efficiency improvement.
○ Track budget performance and provide regular reports to management.
○ Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations and long-term
financial stability
○ Monitor cash flow projections, optimise working capital, and implement cash
management strategies

3. Financial Planning & Analysis


○ Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the
organisation's goals
○ Review and analyse financial statements, management reports, and other
financial documents
○ Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
○ Present financial results to senior management and stakeholders

4. Financial Operations
○ Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and
receivable, payroll, and general ledger
○ Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
○ Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls
○ Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and tools to enhance
efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Identify and implement automation
opportunities
5. Team Management & Reporting
○ Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and
performance management
○ Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Delegate
responsibilities effectively and ensure adequate workload distribution.
○ Manage the submission of annual Audited Financial Statements to SSM, the
company’s Annual Return to SSM, and the submission of Tax Estimates & Tax
Returns to IRB

6. Risk Management & HR Support


○ Identify and mitigate financial risks, while providing insights on investment
opportunities, capital structure, and financing options.
○ Review and validate payroll computations, statutory requirements, and
incentives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

7. International Financial Strategy


○ Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with our
international expansion goals, optimising financial performance and minimising
risk
○ Oversee and manage financial operations across multiple countries, ensuring
efficient and compliant financial processes, reporting, and controls

8. Capital Management:
○ Oversee the company's capital structure, which includes decisions about debt,
equity, and working capital. Ensure the company has access to the necessary
capital to fund its operations and growth initiatives.

9. Treasury Management:
○ Manage the company's cash flow, optimising liquidity, and making decisions
about investments and financing.
○ Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.

Skills & Qualifications:

● Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience managing


cross-functional teams
● Self-motivated and confident, with a strong drive for success.
● Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
● Demonstrated success as a CFO or in a similar senior financial role
● Proficiency in strategic financial planning and financial projection analysis.
● In-depth knowledge of international financial regulations, compliance, and taxation
● Understanding of market entry strategies, with a experience identifying and capitalising
on international growth opportunities, mitigating risks, and ensuring sustainable
expansion
● Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations
● Alignment with and promotion of company values.
