3. Guess the word

The game of charades is a fun activity in which

players act without speaking in order to make

others guess a word or phrase.

Instructions for use:

Forming the teams:

The players are divided into teams. There can be two or more teams, depending on

the number of participants.

Turns: Teams take turns sending one member of their team to the center of the

group to act as the "actor" in the charades.

Game:The actor pulls a card out of a hat without looking and acts out the word

without speaking, using gestures, movements and facial expressions to keep his or

her team guessing what it represents. The other team members have a limited time

(e.g., 1 or 2 minutes) to guess the correct word.

If the team does not guess the word or phrase in the allotted time, they earn no

points and the turn goes to the next team.


Winner: The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
