HISTORY OF BRGY.

CONCEPCION, GENERAL TINIO, NUEVA ECIJA

Barangay Concepcion is a historic and thriving community in the Municipality of

General Tinio, Nueva Ecija. It is one of the earliest organized barangays in the municipality,

along with Rio Chico, Pias, Padolina, Bago, and Nazareth. Barangay Concepcion is located

1.2 kilometers away from the Municipal Hall and has a total land area of 219.20 hectares. As

of 2022, Barangay Concepcion has a projected population of 7,330 and 1,845 households.

This makes it the second most densely populated barangay in the municipality, with a

population density of 3,199.36 people per square kilometer.

Barangay Concepcion is a commercial hub, with 64 business establishments along the

national and provincial roads. It is also home to the Baliwag Transit Inc. (BTI) bus terminal,

which provides a convenient way to travel to and from Metro Manila. This makes Barangay

Concepcion a vital transportation hub for the region.

In terms of education, Barangay Concepcion has one elementary school, East

Elementary School, with 667 pupils and 26 teachers. This school provides quality education

to the children of the barangay and the surrounding communities. Barangay Concepcion also

has two evacuation facilities, East Elementary School and the Barangay Gymnasium. These

facilities are well-maintained and equipped to provide shelter and support to residents in times

of emergency.

In terms of agriculture, Barangay Concepcion has 25 hectares of irrigable land. This land

is used to cultivate a variety of crops, including rice, corn, and vegetables. The agricultural

sector plays an important role in the local economy and provides food and livelihood

opportunities for many residents.Barangay Concepcion also has a good water supply, with

760 existing water connections for 3,800 households. The average daily water consumption is

20.27 cubic meters. There are also municipal water tanks and pumps in the barangay to ensure

a reliable water supply for all residents.

In terms of electricity, 1,590 households in Barangay Concepcion are served by NEECO

II-Area 2. This comprises 12.43% of the total electric consumers in the municipality.
Barangay Concepcion has a stable and reliable electricity supply, which is essential for

economic development and the well-being of residents. The daily waste generation in

Barangay Concepcion is about 3,094.03 kilograms, or 0.46 kilograms per person per day. The

barangay has a waste management system in place to ensure that waste is disposed of

properly. This helps to protect the environment and public health.
